  1. I'll be on post op liquids. I plan on doing the things we normally do - visit with family and enjoy them! I'll just be drinking my dinner. That's not what's important! Our health is! Movies are usually open on Christmas, too!

    Finally back on schedule

Wow, so glad your mass was benign. That's really cool that they will do both surgeries together. Wishing you all the best. My WLS got derailed for a few months with an endometrial cancer diagnosis. Hysterectomy was my cure and I'll be having my WLS in 6 days!!!

    Pre-Op LSD

I thought the same thing!! ????

    Heading in for surgery!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery! Congrats!
  5. Yes! The rides! I'd gotten to the point that if they had a test seat outside I wouldn't even attempt it. At Universal Orlando, they would look you up and down and ask "are you planning on riding today?" So utterly humiliating.

    Any Dec. 14th sleevers?

Emergencies are scary!! Let them know you're a little nervous and they will likely give you something to relax you. Then, you won't care!! ????
  7. Dec 14 here, too! One week, folks!!!
  8. Thanks for your comment. I will definitely need my glasses. I'll probably have my ID and insurance cards in my bag also. Do I need to take a debit or credit card with me just in case? I would bring something so you can get prescriptions on your way home. Best of luck to you!

    Protein Drink witch one

I like the premier protein ready to drink. But not strawberry. It's kind of globby.

    Any Dec. 14th sleevers?

Me! Me! Me! (Dec 14, not AR). I'm getting excited, anxious and a little nervous. I was in a panic earlier this evening, because I couldn't find my pre op blood work prescription (finally found it). Going under doesn't worry me - I've had plenty of other procedures. My worry is they won't do it for some reason and I'll wake up so disappointed. Also, just trying to get everything set for work and the holidays before the big day. Can't wait till we are on the losers' bench!!!!

    My surgery experience

Thanks so much for sharing your story! I'm finding myself addicted to this site with my surgery just a week away!!
  12. Best of luck to you for a successful surgery and easy recovery!!
  13. I am so sorry!!! Praying for good pathology results. My surgery was delayed a few months for uterine cancer. (Postponed a couple months before surgery - not during like you). They got it all and I'm back on track, just a little later. Praying that this is just a blip in time for you. Please keep us posted!! ETA. Just read further and saw it was benign! Yay!!!
  14. A little, but mine was out of the norm, and really, I didn't care what the recovery was like as long as they got it all!!! I'm sure you'll have a much easier go of it. Glad you're going to join! I still check in from time to time there. Xx
  15. I actually ended up with some nerve damage in my legs after. I was on the table for about 5 hours (much longer than normal) and the way they sort of hang you upside down for the robotic assisted surgery stretched my nerves. So, I was in PT for a while after. Most people can get to walking pretty quickly after, but you are restricted to only lifting a milk jug for about 6 weeks or so. I developed a fever between week 1 and 2 and felt pretty bad. Some antibiotics and I was fine after. Other than that, it's pretty typical recovery. Very wiped out. I'd say I started to feel like myself at about three weeks out. Now, I am just thrilled to be considered "no further treatment" and am not missing my monthly visitor one bit!! The hot flashes kind of suck, though. ???? I really do encourage you to check out that other forum. It was a godsend for me (same name there).

    Protein Drink

Are you allowed coffee or decaf? Maybe a little instant mixed in would really seem like a Starbucks!
  17. I lost about 40 pounds. Our program's theory was that you need to show some loss, otherwise the insurance company would view you as noncompliant and a poor risk. There was no set number to lose, though and some months I gained a little or stayed the same (I had another surgery and some complications). But now I'm set to have my surgery Dec 14!!

    Hospital stay question

My surgeon said hopefully one night.
  19. Being less self conscious on airplanes, in theaters, at sporting events... Shopping at any store... Not sweating all the time... Crossing my legs... For the first time ever!
  20. I had to pause my sleeve surgery to have a total hysterectomy for uterine cancer. I actually lost about 10 pounds after bc I was just not hungry. Plateaued for a little, then started heading slowly down again (I'm still pre sleeve). Best of luck to you. Have you checked out hystersisters? Great forum!

    December Vs. March

I pretty much hand selected my date of Dec 14 in the beginning of Oct. Not quite as far out as you, but I wanted to connect it to my Christmas break (SLP in a school). So, no, I don't think it's odd. You need to do what's best for you! I just kept going to my monthly appts at the weight loss center, practicing good habits!

    Totally nervous.

Mine is the 14th and I have the same fear - that they won't be able to complete it for some reason. But, we've got this!!!!!!
  23. @ Mom26 I am so sorry your son is sick. Praying for you all my heart goes out to you mom-to-mom.
  24. I'm Dec 14, too! On day 4 of my preop diet. It was HARD the first few days and I had a massive headache, but it does get easier!!!! We've got this!!!

    Husbands feelings..

I agree with these ladies, although I'm still pre op. My hubby is very supportive and loves me no matter what. I do think I'll feel so much better about myself and that will lead to a better relationship.
