  1. In my plan, purée allows soft scrambled eggs, cottage cheese, hummus, purees soups (bean, etc), refried beans thinned with broth, pureed tuna, chicken, other meats, mashed potatoes, etc.
  2. I ordered it. It came pretty quickly
  3. Is there a good brand of unflavored Protein powder? I bought unjury brand. It's pretty good.
  4. Sometimes it takes all day to get those two shakes in, doesn't it? I usually try for half and then go back for the other half later.
  5. Sounds normal to me!! Keep plugging away!
  6. 100 of protein is a lot. My goal for week one was only 40, although I was able to get at least 60 in with two premier shakes. My ultimate goal is 70-90, I think

    Pre-op liquid diet struggle!

It was hard! I had a massive headache for two days from carb withdrawal. And I had been pretty good prior!! It does get easier. It is worth it in the end. Keep your eyes on the prize!!

    Brand new here

Welcome! It sounds like you have a great attitude and a great start!!
  10. Hi, Amy. I'm Amy also! The advice you got about the drinking and caffeine is spot on. I just wanted to say that I didn't get my "binder" until my post op diet class which was just a few weeks before surgery. Best of luck to you on your journey!

    Pre OP liquid diet

Mine was a choice of either 4+1 or 3+2 protein shakes to small meal combos. My meals were 4 oz of lean protein and some non starchy vegetables. Good luck to you!

    GETTING SCARED HELP

Thinking of you. Blake the other posters, I found this process very easy and the pain wasn't bad at all. I came home after one night and only took about three doses of my pain meds. I walked a little stooped over the first day, because my belly hurt, but I felt fantastic by the third and fourth day. Went shopping and everything! They will take good care of you. It's natural to be nervous. We are here for you!!

    How to tell family/friends?

I'll tell pretty much anyone who flat out asks, or who I feel like telling. Other people, I just thank them for their compliments. Now, I just had my surgery last week, so my weight loss so far has been through diet and exercise. We will see what I decide in the future.

LOOK LOOK LOOK! I'M IN THE TWO'S

    Woo Hoo! That's fantastic!!!
  15. Keep trying tiny sips. Vary the temperature to see if that helps. I know when I take too big of a sip, it can hurt, but is definitely so much better now!!
  16. I get it. My mother baked Christmas cookies so my husband and son wouldn't have to "do without" and then implied that I should help her pack them up!! I'm one week out from surgery!! SMH!

    December 14th Sleevers

Howdy! I got the ok to start purée on Christmas, so I'm having eggs for Breakfast with my family!! (They consider fork mushed eggs a purée ::shrug:. I'm so excited to be able to have something normal. Also saw my pathology report online and my chunk o' tummy looked good. I was a little nervous after dealing with uterine cancer this summer. Wishing us all the best!!

    One Week Out!

I was sleeved on the 14th, too, and feel great!! You're right, the water and protein are all day projects! Not to mention the different vitamin every two hours! Looking forward to purees! Keep up the awesome work!
  19. My favorite item was pajama bottoms. I couldn't put my robe on due to the iv, so it was so nice having something covering my booty on my walks!

    Dec 2015 Sleevers!

The preop diet is hard!! I had my sleeve a week ago. I'm still on full liquids but it's so much easier now. My surgery went great and I feel awesome now!
  21. I was sleeved on Monday. Had pain pump, so minimal pain issues in the hospital. That night, I got up and walked the halls and peed. The next day, I went home midday and took a huge nap. Took about two doses of my pain meds that day. Very sore when I got up and walked. Walked like the hunchback. Wednesday morning I took one dose of pain meds and that was it. Been getting my protein in and liquids, but it's an all day affair. Yesterday, I drive and ran a few errands, but belly was sore after a while. Today, I ran a bunch of errands and feel great! Lots of energy!
  22. I bought my friend ( sleeve in Feb) and me bracelets that say "she believed she could so she did" from Etsy. Love them!
  23. Today was the day!! Everything went very smoothly! Sitting in my hospital room, sucking on ice chips and feeling good, but sore! I can't quite believe it finally happened!!!
