    Carbs post op

are you sure about this, complex carbs are the good carbs, I would think it is the simple carbs you want to stay away from. I have been told they want you eating some carbs which I would think that complex is the better choice. Cheers,
  2. in canada it is completly covered. I could have had an earlier surgery date but I'm in no hurry, have an important conference to attend in early may then i will have the surgery done. Well the conference is same day as surgery so the conference is out. My fear: -Restless leg syndrome, this seem to be common and i do not want this. -Complications, worries me a bit. -Was at 320 lbs lost 50 lbs i'm 6'3" so i'm tall, this surgery is for my diabetes. Im very optimistic that this will help this greatly. Thanks for listening Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Recovery Time After RNY

My team has recommended that I take 4-6 weeks off work to recover is this normal? I bought a vitamix so I am ready for pureeing all my foods. Also theydidn't tell me specifically how long to take the boost diet before surgery, they just said 2-3 weeks so if its my choice I guess 2 weeks as apposed to 3, what say you?
  4. Hi this is a fear for me too, I love smokies and almost anything in sausage form, Am I done with this. I love cheese, old, medium, gouda, swiss, I love it all. pizza the thicker the better. I have been transitioning to thin crust with less toping in an attempt to prepare for this reality. But the bottom line, if the foods I love now are going to make me dump, I don't care about giving them up, I would rather be healthy and dump free.

    Surgery date is may 31

do you suffer any restless leg syndrome or any other complications, I really worried about complications. I do not have restless leg now and would not want to have this after the surgery. also, I wasn't worried but now that the date is set in stone, I am getting apprehensive. I suppose a little bit of this is normal. Thanks for listening.

  13. Thanks this is great advise. I want to make large batches of Cana butter and add this too the soup. Would this work
  14. I wonder if you were as warm and cheery a person before your surgery, must suck not having any friends.
  15. I drink Water 8-10 times a day, OH MY GOD! I must be addicted whatever will I do? using pot once a week is not frequent at all. before your surgery I bet you had more chocolate bars a week then that, which is much more harmful then one puff a week. before you comment I did not do drugs until I saw the results for my friend as a way to control pain. I have started just recently as a way to find an alternative method of pain control for chronic pain from Back surgery(Medical prescription). someone having a puff once a week is not an addiction, Jadama22 continue your recreational use, you are hardly an addict.
  16. it surprises me the amount of people hating on them because they want to do cannabis. we all have different reason for wanting to visit this alternative, for me it is for pain control, and the medial prescription route. I have to quite NSAIDS and the thought of this scares me as back spasms and pain are common without my NSAIDS. I have a friend who has a medical marijuana license and it controls his back pain. the munchies are not that severe, I have found making tea with the marijuana, does not give me the munchies. As for Nikkibear 24 your ignorance towards his use of Cannibus is shocking, and I'll bet he is 110% glad he doesn't have to work with you. walk a mile in someone else's shoes before you pass judgement.
  17. Hi, I M Pre op, I have a really bad back (double discectomy/laminectomy) and in order to prep for the gastric bypass surgery. I have to stop all NSAIDS, these are important to me as they prevent pain to a certain degree. I have a friend who controls pain with medical marijuana. I am in the process of getting my license for medical marijuana. I plan on making tea with it as this is probably a better way to enjoy the pain control benefits of Cannabis. If I cannot use NSAIDS anymore, I have to come up with alternatives to control pain. vaporizer if not an option, tea will be. Cheers,
