Daniellewi got a reaction from SusieT in Can I ever have coffee again?
I recently started drinking coffee again (sugar free creamer and truvia) It is the only cure for my constipation(I have tried everything else) I drink plenty of Water during the day so I'm not worried about it. Being constipated every day just isn't something I can live with forever.

They do have waterproof ones on amazon still available I just looked. They are much more expensive but would be worth it if you're swimming a lot. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using the BariatricPal App

I cannot stand any kind of canned meat. Canned chicken or tuna makes me want to get sick. It tastes like chemicals to me. Also I can't eat anything grilled on charcoal.

You poor thing. I am petrified of potatoes or anything starchy. Cottage cheese and veggie meatballs (I am a vegetarian) have been my friend. They crew up and crumble better then meat so I think that helps me.

Daniellewi reacted to 4MRB4PHOTO in Alcohol post op:it's possible? When, how much?
When it is appropriate to do so, you can on occasion enjoy a drink and consume alcohol in moderation.
    The calories are empty.
A few people have transfer addictions to alcohol since they are no longer using food to deal with those feelings.
It could lead to other, old, unwanted behaviors.
Many people find that the alcohol's effects are stronger post surgery, so be careful how much you consume if you are driving afterwards.
BUT FOR THE SAKE OF GOD AND EVERYTHING THAT IS HOLY, IF YOU HAVE A MIXED DRINK AND USE A STRAW, DON'T POST IT ON THE SURGICAL WEIGHT LOSS FORUMS THAT YOU USED A STRAW!

I have not experienced dumping syndrome and have tried a wide variety of foods. I do avoid breads, rice, and pastas however. I've had a bite of dessert with no problems.

The use of/not of a straw when drinking liquids has been discussed, sometimes passionately, many times before.
I found "scientific" images of circumstances where they should not be utilized.

Daniellewi got a reaction from Barry W in What do you know now that you wish you knew prior to surgery
I wish I had known how much pain I would have felt right after surgery. I slept in a recliner for a week. I have always had a high pain tolerance but this one threw me for a loop. I had read on here how everyone said it was a piece of cake and not painful. I guess everyone is different because I felt like I was punched in the stomach repeatedly and the incision pain was pretty intense for at least 2 Weeks for me. I was so glad I took 4 weeks off work, I would have never made it.

Daniellewi got a reaction from toastedink in Losing shoe size?
I was wondering if anyone has lost a shoe size with their weight loss. I would be very sad if this happened to me and I had to replace all my shoes (I have quite the collection). I was just saying to my boyfriend the other day that the only thing that still fits me are my socks and shoes. Everything else has been replaced a few times already as I get smaller.

Goodwill has been a Godsend for me! You need to have time to look through stuff and try it on. My local Goodwill stores are nicely organized and clean. I have found some stylish clothes there for affordable prices. They do take returns but you get a store credit.

I chose sleeve because I prefer normal digestion. I had GERD prior to surgery and now 2 months post op it's practically gone. My surgeon told me not to use GERD as a deciding factor.

I have a desk job and took off 4 weeks. I don't care if you sit at a desk, you just had major surgery and you body physically needs time to heal. There is NO WAY I could have gone back in a few days. I have a high pain tolerance, am very active, and this surgery wiped me out. I couldn't even drink Water properly for a week. I would have rather used my vacation time to heal properly than to have ended up back in the hospital.

I just joined my local YMCA. I was stuck in a stall for 3 weeks and scale would not budge. I found some fun exercise classes like zumba and kickboxing and the scale started moving again. I was walking on the treadmill prior to this and think my mind and body were bored. Since I live in Wisconsin with long winters unfortunately I can't get outdoors like I would really rather do.

My surgery was 12/22 and I'm down 35 pounds so I'm happy. I have good and bad days with eating. One day everything goes down well, the next nothing does. I'm averaging about 500—600 calories per day. I had a follow up with my NUT and she wants me to drink more Water. I average about 62 oz per day. I told her that with waiting 30 minutes before & after my 3 meals per day plus the 30 minutes it tales for me to eat that is 4.5 hours of my day I can't drink. The struggle is real! I keep trying!
