  1. track, track, track. my fitnesspal is awesome if you arent already using it.
  2. skip the gravy next time, just keep at it, chew slower, smaller bites. i actually used a baby fork at first. it will get better.
  3. Use it as a motivator. You'll show them next time you see them and they will have to eat their words.
  4. I've given this advice many times on this forum. Take the batteries out of the scale and put the scale in the closet. Only weigh in at your dr appointments for the first couple months. If you follow your plan, you will succeed. Scales just get in the way. good luck to you.
  5. If you are having to chew, i dont think that qualifies as pureed, jmho. Greek yogurt, refried beans, scrambled eggs, that type of thing that doesnt require chewing really. Also, you didnt mention how far along you were?
  6. Would you be willing to share your training schedule for the 13 weeks? I was really looking to begin some training in this area. I already run 10k pretty easily, bike ride is no problem, but the swimming I haven't really done. Good luck with your training and keep us posted on your progress! Hey, sorry, just realized I never sent this to you. Let me try that right now Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  7. Wrapping up week 4 of 13, I never ever suspected I could be addicted to exercise like I am. I love it and how it makes me feel. Some of the great apps and techno gizmos really gives you great data on how your improving. I'm up to running 5 miles now, I found a group to ride with on Wednesdays, which is a lot of fun. I ran a 5k last weekend because it fit in my training plan, shaved 2 minutes off my previous 5k time. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  8. I've been doing yoga for the last few weeks. I am training heavily for a triathlon and the stretching from yoga is very helpful, especially the older you get! Like one of the above posters said, it's not a cardiovascular workout, so it won't help you lose weight like other activities, but it won't make you gain weight either. I feel so much better and relaxed after yoga. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  9. New life? Yes. Dr. Williams is my surgeon. Dr Williams did my sleeve about 8 months ago, great Dr!
  10. Would you be willing to share your training schedule for the 13 weeks? I was really looking to begin some training in this area. Im about to leave, so give me a day or two, but ill send it to you.
  11. I am 7 months post op and still use a dose of miralax in my coffee in the morning.
  12. I am just over 7 months post op sleeve. I was a fairly low bmi when i had surgery, 35.8 i think. My goal was 175, i am now at 166-7 or so, i think thats a 23.1 bmi. I exercise heavily, which i think was a large part of my success. i am currently training for a triathlon, exercise and lift weights 9 times a week.
  13. About 8 or 9 days passed and still nothing, it was getting uncomfortable, so I called the nurse. She said ohh, the paperwork you were sent home with said to take milk of magnesia after 4 days if no bm. It works wonders, just don't go to far away from the bathroom! 14. Chic fil a is my go to place. Grilled chicken nuggets and superfood side salad.
  15. I eat both regularly, usually in yogurt, they are a superfood!
  16. Highly recommend the couch to 5k app! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  17. Thanks for all the encouraging words. i did my swim workout today at an indoor pool, first lap swim i have done in 25 Years! it was very....invigorating and empowering! i was a competitive swimmer in high school, it felt really good to get in a pool!
  18. What babbs said about the fat ones is true. The biggest guy in my department, no kidding like 400 pounds was the one who tried to talk me out of surgery. It must be some way of coping, in some way they want you to stay fat to make themselves feel better, I'm guessing? Idk, but I finally told him, look if you don't have words of encouragement to say, just don't any anything at all. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  19. My surgery center said it was based on your bmi on your initial visit. Check with yours to see though. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  20. Myfitnesspal, I've used it for over 200 days in a row now, not only does it track Protein, but all macro's and calories. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  21. No problem Pam, it's all good info to share! Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
  22. I think i would count your triathlon as your long run.
  23. I've got bricks built in to my workout plan starting in a couple weeks, I believe. My exercise physiologist put this plan with my numbers in mind, so I think it's a solid plan, tough, but solid. She doesn't expect me just to complete, she's expecting me to compete! I've also got a couple open water swims built into my workout. Sent from my SM-N920V using the BariatricPal App
