  1. I didn't have any drains left in....and only bled thru one of the 5 bandages while admitted. I asked before going in and was told they are left in as needed.
  2. I had my VSG Tuesday 11/10 and came home last night. My pain tolerance I thought was fairly high but I'm having sharp, burning, stabbing pain on my left side at the incision area. It feels like I'm being stabbed and the knife is being twisted into me. It's worse after moving or getting up or down. I'm taking my pain meds as directed, and hugging ice but it's almost unbearable. Doctor agrees it's normal and will get better but I'm a bit impatient..... Any advice or tips on relieving this? Or can anyone share how long his lasted? Thanks!!!!!
  3. My time was 7:30am yesterday. I'm still impatient, dr didn't let me start clear liquids till this morning. The pain has been horrible on my left side at the incision sights. I'm able to walk around but the pain is just unbearable and the morphine every 4 hours just hasn't helped at all. They switched me to a Tylenol/codone pills an hour ago and we are seeing how they work. Less nauseous for sure, but still in petty bad pain. No real other complications. Will see if tommorrows any better. Good luck everyone!
  4. I'm 5:30am tomorrow too! Having trouble getting myself to sleep!
  5. I'm tomorrow too!!!!!! Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I couldn't even get it down when i tried to tolerate it. I ended up throwing it all away after nearly throwing up. Good luck!!!!!
  7. Haha. Don't you love when they sell it so well with the side effects? It'll be worth it!
  8. I had a big loss right before I started the full liquids so haven't seen much movement yet. Looking forward to it tho!
  9. Doctor requires Unjury protein mix. So I have chocolate and unflavored. Not horrible. I have to have 4 shakes a day, 2 with fat free milk 2 with non dairy/sugar free crystal light or broth. Then 6 servings of either sugar free jello or pudding cups and or light and fit yogurt.
  10. Mines the 10th. just mixed Protein shake number 2.....the smell is nauseating....I feel like I'm pregnant again! lol Unflavored mixed w crystal light. It tastes okay. Thankfully.
  11. I'm on day 3....I've been logging about 850 calories with 110-130 grams of Protein. I'm beyond exhausted. Good luck!!!!!
  12. I'm on day 3 of my 14 day preop diet. I never realized how bad my gag reflux was till I tried to choke down Protein shake chicken broth! (Ick) im determined to stick to it....and chugged it down. The smell of Protein powder makes me nauseous at this point. I'm drinking as much Water as I can handle and that's been helping for sure. my biggest complaint other than that is just how weak my body feels...I'm getting 100gs of protein daily from the shakes and light yogurt but get light headed and weak so easily. Positive thoughts. It will all be worth it!
  13. Ouch. I'd splurge on a hotel 5 mins away. lol I'm lucky my hospitals only 10 mins away. Good luck!!!!
  14. I'm looking forward to them being more comfortable post op....for sure.
  15. LOVE the heels!!!!
  16. Long distance is totally worth it if you're with the right person! Hard, yes....But you appreciate each other and time so much more. Good luck!
  17. Mine requires 2 weeks full liquid and then a full colonoscopy prep the day before! :-/ I think I'm dreading that more than the actually surgery....I begin liquids on 10/26.
  18. I'm 28 and mines one month away (11/10). My birthdays in December and I think what's most exciting for me is knowing by the time 30 creeps up in a year I should be at or below goal! It's making me much more excited for my 30s.
  19. I still can't settle on if I'm excited or terrified! Eye on the prize for sure. Good luck and congrats getting your date!
  20. I second old navy. They have a great selection and expanded sizes. Some w some stretch, but not that pajama Jean stretch look! lol. Plus the prices aren't bad, if you're still losing and will be changing sizes soon.
  21. Turns out there was a justifiable reason for his freak out and behavior. His ex wife, much older than him or us/mother of his son just learned she has terminal cancer. So he's dealing with a lot. And felt it was unfair to me to be playing care giver to her and just conflicted because he loves and will always love her, mother of his child but he's in love with me and we have something so special. We've talked. I understand and obviously support him supporting her and want to be involved and present. we are getting through it all together. Back together. One hell of a week. She knows about me. And supports us and respects our relationship. But she needs support going thru what she's facing, having a young child. I care about her as the mother of his child and respect him as a man so so much. So I guess they aren't all crazy. Most of the time.
  22. Turkey broth? I'm excited for the changes, more than I'm planning on missing thanksgiving foods. We're already planning on skipping the big meal and heading to a theme park to walk and not think about it. win win.
  23. And space has lead to a full on end to my relationship. So I now get 3 weeks to get my emotions in check before my 2 week pre op diet begins. I'm not sure which is going to be worse!
  24. Oh I feel your pain!!!!! I'm in the midst of a long distance relationship. Incredible. Love of my life. He's my support through the surgery when j have it next month and coming to take care of me. Out of nowhere Friday I get "sorry but this will never work lets be realistic". When Thursday was love and roses and wedding talk and kids! Saturday was more "I love you so much" and how he can't live without me. Then yesterday and today....he wants me to Give him some space! Sighs. The stress of the weekend resulted in 4 lbs of weight loss. ((If we're going to be positive)) As of now. He's getting space. Still coming next month to care from me stating we will talk and see when he gets here. Totally agree. Men can be just as crazy as most perceive women to be! Message me if you need a venting buddy! We seem to have tons in common. lol. And I could use the support more so texting than on a forums. I want to shake him. I'm supposed to be the emotional wreck right now. He's supposed to be strong and supportive! I'm being his and my own support. It's overwhelming sometimes.
