  1. My fitness pal for logging meals and the weight tracker!
  2. Hey all! I'm scheduled in november and looking to connect with some friends/buddies similar in age((I'm 28)) /situations ((dating/surgery/life/what to wear!)).....basically just friends going through the same things. Message them maybe email/text. Seems like it would be nice to have someone to relate to and bounce questions back and forth while going through this! -B
  3. Same same. No reason to hide. My dates November 10th!
  4. I know I know......but taking steps in the right direction. Diet...exercise....mental trying to get your head right....deserves kudos no matter what stage we fall in.
  5. All you can do is hope. Not to be a cheerleader for your case....but you are working your ass off (literally) trying to make yourself a healthier person. The right girl will see that and appreciate and support you for what you're going through and help you along the way. Think cardio dates, long walks and cooking healthy meals together! What better way to burn calories then with someone you love!?
  6. Just be yourself and have confidence! The right one comes around when you least expect it and will love you for YOU....not how awesome of a selfie you can take. ((We all know selfies are lame no matter how hot you look in them!)) Don't overthink things. Go with the flow and have fun. I also went to FSU! Go Noles!
  7. November 10th! Part of me feels like it's so far away, but then the other part is freaking out because it's right around the corner!
  8. At my initial consult before my 6 months insurance required supervised weight loss I had already dropped 52lbs on my own from my HW of 340lbs. My surgeon asked that I lose an additional 2.5% by the end of the 6 months which only came out to just under 8lbs. ((Thankfully that didn't seem too intimidating!)) It wasn't required by insurance, but I think he more wanted to know that I was willing to put the work in and follow a diet pre op. I dropped 10lbs over the 6 months and he was happy. I'm scheduled for 11/10 and start my 2 week diet 10/26!
  9. I didn't know you could add friends on MFP! I need to get better accountability wise and at actually logging things. Im scheduled for the sleeve November 10th. Would love to keep in touch thru the process! Bridgemarque23
  10. Keep positive! I struggled with the same thing and considering "living it up". What I tried to focus on is the thought of living it up and letting food win defeats the goal we all have in mind. It's about making healthy choices. I have struggled and fluctuated and stalled. It's definitely not easy! Just today I finally got over a stall I've been fighting with for the past 3 weeks!!!! So hang in there!!!! I just completed my 6 month program and see my surgeon Friday. The next new months will fly by. You can do it!!!!!!!!!
  11. My last pre test appointments next week. Follow up w the surgeon the next week. You can do it!!!!!
  12. I'm 2 weeks out from my follow up with my surgeon after completing all the pre op visits and requirements. The coordinator believes I should be getting my surgery date then ((freaking out!)) and I'm curious if anyone who's gone through the process and surgery has any advice or pointers....tips or things you wish you knew beforehand to better prepare.
  13. Congrats on your success! You look amazing!
  14. Hey! I have BCBS of Mi as well, live in Florida. I just called to confirm because you had me curious! I was told as long as all the criteria for medical necessity has been met there is no specific preauthorization required for the gastric sleeve....however because it's an inpatient procedure there is a pre admission process which has to be approved generally speaking to be admitted. I wouldn't imagine that would take more than a day or so! I follow up w my surgeon 9/18 and will have completed all my supervised visits, labs, EGD and psych/fitness/nutrition evals at that point! Keep me posted on your insurance! Message me if you need a buddy.
  15. I'm also looking tentatively for October 2015! I have BCBS and am almost done with my 6(7) months supervised w my PCP. 7th visit is 9/10/15. I've already completed my EGD, psych and fitness evaluation, dietician consult. Scheduled to follow up w my surgeon 9/18/15 and hopefully get scheduled soon after! I'm in Tampa Florida, and would love to make new friends with people going through the same thing! I'm 28, recently divorced, single mother of one awesome little boy who just started kindergarten today! Looking forward to the next year and changes to come. B
