  1. It's not easy to say no. Believe me, I still have to say no. It's what's best.
  2. Hang in there. The greatest fear is the fear of the unknown and right now, that fear is driving your thoughts and reactions. At one point along our journey, my husband and I separated so I could help my son. That was a huge waste of time and money. As long as I helped him, he wouldn't become responsible. So, we quit letting him love with us. He stays at the local mission. Now, he works at a local factory 5-6 days a week. Pays his own way in life and is saving to get a place so he can take his daughter to live with him whom we raise. When they grow up, we have to let them be grown ups, no matter how much it hurts.
  3. Today I had my fifth consultation appointment with my surgeon & nurse. I was disappointed in myself for having gained 2lbs. Since my last appointment. I've had a hard time getting to the gym and just came home from a few days traveling so those were my excuses. He said in this last month, I need to step it up a notch and do my best. It's looking like surgery will be the middle of December if insurance gives the blessing. Now it's getting real & I'm getting nervous.
  4. As a parent of an adult son whose been in trouble in the past, I understand. It's difficult to refrain from feeling guilty and distraught. We want the best for our kids but sometimes they make choices causing circumstances that we can't control. Focus on what you can control such as food, time, thoughts, etc. Prayer helps too.
