JupiterinVirgo reacted to Joann454 in Almost at goal… New hair loss?
They've already checked my Vitamins twice and I only had surgery 5/22. I'd ask for a recheck. What can it hurt?

I have been taking Vitamins the whole time. I still ended up with Low Vitamin D and Low Iron. Having low vitamin D and Iron will make your hair fall out.
The first place to start with Hair loss is checking your vitamin levels.

I don't think Vitamins have anything to do with it. I have been taking my vitamins daily and Protein since day 1 and my hair still thinned out.

Have your labs done. Low Vitamin D or low Iron can make your hair fall out.

Yes I am having the same problem I had the sleeve done in September & I started losing a lot of my hair then I started to take more Vitamins & that helped. Try getting a Vitamin that helps Hair growth. I honestly love pre-natal vitamins!

JupiterinVirgo got a reaction from Allie589 in No, I don't want no SCALE
I have not owned a scale since I had my surgery 21 months ago. From the beginning I only weighed in roughly every three months. And I am always down. Now over 150 pounds down! For me, owning a scale meant reinforcing the same diet mentality that made me fat, and cause me to need my bariatric surgery. Some people say that they need a scale to stay "accountable." I find this to be bullshit because we know damn well when we are being accountable to what is good for us, what brings us closer to our goals. My suggestion is to weigh in at your surgeons office. And the rest of the time, be accountable to yourself by doing the right thing for you.

Before I had my surgery, and during the majority of my weight loss, I spent a lot of time looking at other people's pictures so I could reassure myself that I too, could have the results I had hoped for. Well let me tell you my friends, you inspired me so much that I actually have done it!Still planning for my plastic surgery to remove my excess skin, but this is what 150+ pounds of weight loss looks like!

I had this problem recently myself. I am almost to years out of surgery and just a few pounds from goal/normal BMI. About six weeks ago I had a dream that I had a bald spot on the top of my head. A few days later I got my period and my hair started to fall out again. Hormones and thyroid play a big part in Hair loss despite the myth that this is normal after weight-loss surgery. When they say that, what they mean is it happens to many patients but it is definitely not normal. It shows that there is an in balance in the body that needs to be addressed in your surgeon will not address it.

JupiterinVirgo got a reaction from Missy161 in Sugar Addiction
Because sugar lights up the same areas of the mind-body complex as cocaine, anybody who has eaten it on any ongoing and regular basis for any extended period of time is addicted. The good news is, like with other drugs, the cravings for it dissipates greatly once you remove it from your life. That said, for me it is still a struggle and I sometimes backslide. I find this tends to happen especially when I have hormonal fluxes, or when I have been under nourished for too long. I have found this to be a little much less of an issue and I am getting adequately nourished by organic foods, including fruit and lots of veggies.
