How Often Do You Get Help From Your Surgeon or Other Bariatric Professional?
I have felt like there is very little support from my surgeons office from start to finish. In fact, I was sleeved three weeks ago and still have a two week wait until my first post op appointment.

Do you use PatchMD vitamin patches?
Love the patches!

Embrace the Stall
I'm very early in the process, at three weeks post op and have not stepped on the scale since two weeks prior to surgery, but I want to print this out for the long haul. Thank you so much for this well organized, common sense summary!

GOAL!
Oh congratulations!

Surgery next week and I have a horrible cough -- reschedule or go through with it?
Coughing jags are gonna hurt like hell right after surgery!
-
What to have at home?
The one thing that helped me post op the most was a wedge pillow so I could go from lying down to sitting up with less pain.

Dress size conundrum
Women's sizes make no sense and vary widely based on marketing.

I can't go....
I use milk of magnesia and smooth move tea. As long as you don't get impacted you're okay, I think.

How long after surgery will I be bedridden, or able to drive
I was really sore, tired and medicated for a week. I'm three weeks out today and pain free for at least a week.

Is Your Love Life on Hold While You Lose Weight?
This is my first post in this forum, so, hello! In the months leading up to my surgery, I put my dating life completely on hold to stay focused on the labor of preparing for a huge shift in mind, body and soul. I was sleeved three weeks ago, but dating feels like a different thing now. I would really prefer not to divulge information as personal as a bariatric surgery to people i don't know and trust, but since relationships have a physical component it seems dishonest not to tell. In a year my body will look totally different. When we share a meal, and I can only eat three bites, I feel I will have to explain. Are you dating while in process of weight loss? Do you divulge that you've had a bariatric surgery to your date? What kind of responses did you get? Are you waiting until your close to goal to start dating do you can focus on yourself? A.

Protein drinks and supplements - organic, soy and gluten free
Naked Whey, Phood, and Dr Axe Collagen protein powders all seem healthier options.
-
What's your favorite protein powder you add to coffee?
Dr axe collagen protein: undetectable!
-
Protein powders
I like Dr Axe Collegen Protein for mixing into not-shakes. I put it in my coffee and tea. Naked Whey has a kind of almost cheese smell to it so that one is good for soft proteins like cottage cheese and yogurt. Both of these products are non- gmo and chemical free.

This is success! Best thing I have ever done
Great work!

First 50 gone
Amazing. And I can honestly say, as a total stranger who has never seen your image before, that your weight loss is visibly observable. And the timeline?? Incredible!

Any Philadelphia Sleevers
I just had my surgery done there less then two weeks ago. I will say the surgery went really well. My healing space was clean and private, and almost everyone was really nice. Now, as a new post op I feel very under supported, my first post op appointment scheduled almost a month out, no option offered for ongoing NUT support and a sense of being totally on my own and freaked out.

how fast?
Your speed and results are amazing. All of you. What did you do? I'm only 10 days out but I truly want to maximize the next six months.
-
Do you really need a hospital buddy?
Yes, you really do. You should have someone to advocate for you, help keep your mind in a good place and keep you comfortable.

Before And After Gastric Sleeve Surgery Photos
This made my jaw drop. Ten days out of surgery and the rewards feel a long way off but seeing your success really sent a surge of excitement through me. Amazing!

Splenda?
I like Truvia as a sugar replacement.

Post-op and crazy puppy!
I think I will have to do something similar. How are you feeling 5 days post op? Thank you for asking. I was still sore and very tired at five days. Today is day seven and I feel much better.

Impacted Bowel One Week After Surgery? Clueless Newbie.
Thank you all for these great suggestions! My surgeons office said not to expect"normal" bm's the first week but this was getting out of hand. I don't feel that I was well educated nor that my comfort taken into account as a patient after. They know this is common they should inform us, give us a script to keep serious impact ions from happening, etc. As a newbie o feel truly under prepared and under supported, medically. Thankfully I have loving friends and family for emotional support. Thanks again, BP community.

Impacted Bowel One Week After Surgery? Clueless Newbie.
After being force fed insane amounts of protein shakes for three weeks, being medicated with opiates post op and being on bed rest for the last week I am not constipated. I'm impacted. There is no way I can pass this malabsorbed protein plug concrete lying like a door mat over my rectal exit! It's very painful and I don't know whether I need medical intervention, colonic irrigation or a strong laxative. Been taking dulcalax and milk of magnesia so far to no avail. I'm a week post op and scared. I never had anything like this before. Normal? Serious? What works? Help!

Please don't be mad and get upset at what we say here!
I get what you're saying. There's a kind of culture here that leans toward almost indoctrination of principles that, in some cases, vary widely between professional teams (which is a bit suspicious). There is also an assumption that we, who live in these bodies, don't know what is good for is, or what we need, and I don't think that is true either. Marry your intuition to your common sense and a little knowledge and it seems there are many ways sleeved people get to goal.
