I am 5'11 and started at 470 and was sleeved on 2/16/16 and weighed in at 371 last week. I had a bit of pain after surg. But I feel great now. I'm swimming, bike riding and walking more each day. Take it a day at a time.

I started at a very high weight, I'm off of all blood pressure Meds, soon to go off last diabetic Med., and all other Meds for nerve damage they have me on a third of the dose. I have been diligent about the Protein first and have eaten very little starch products. I m still working to get the Water intake up. When I do drink water it's usually electrolyte water because my potassium drops to low quickly. Other than that I'm way more active than I have been in a long time.

I was having difficulty with fluids so started using low cal Gatorade and electrolyte Water and slowly I was able to get more liquids down. I'm ten weeks out and am down over 60 lbs. just check with her team about low fat Gatorade instead of sugar free drinks. I just can't handle the sweeteners.

After a year and a half of jumping through hoops, a year of trying to get staff at my primary care Drs office to get the correct documentation to the surgeons office, my approval was received in less than 24 hours. Unfortunately my spouse is scheduled for an urgent spine surgery the first week of November so now I will have to put off until probably Feb 2016. At least I know I won't have a fight from the insurance co.

I am aware of two young women who died due to post bypass surgery complications. The complication, was that they each b came dehydrated and malnourished. They each complained of significant abdominal pain and were not taken seriously.

I am a social worker who medically retired in November. My hope is after the surgery and an additional spine surgery I will be able to go back into the work force.

Talk with your doctor!i think I read that we should not take any extended release Meds. So maybe dr can change yours to not be X-r
