So nervous, surgery is on Wednesday! I can't believe the day is almost here..all of the hard work I've put in will finally pay off! So happy for the rest of you September surgery buddies!

As somebody who has yet to have surgery, I appreciate your list and will be keeping an eye on this thread to see what other advice/suggestions people have to offer. This is incredibly helpful, thank you =)

@@Leesa926 I started the process with my insurance in February and my surgery is next week. It will be exactly 7 months to the day I have my surgery that I started the process. My insurance required 6 months of consecutive weigh ins, along with a myriad of other exams and procedures, but it will be well worth it.

@@jameka229 I have been on the diet since 08/05. My dietician started me on it earlier than normal to get a good head start on liver shrinkage and weight loss. So by the time I actually have the surgery, I'll have been on that diet for almost a month. Then, I'll still be on some form of a liquid diet. It has been and will continue to be a struggle, but I know when I get that first taste of some kind of food..it will be so worth it LOL I have a good support group, too. So glad that we all have people in our lives who are along with us for the journey and want us to be successful and healthy Thank you for the well wishes, as I wish you the same! xo

@@jameka229 I'm counting, but I'm also finding myself going back and forth on my decision. I think last night when I was cooking dinner for everyone else I had a little breakdown for the first time since I started this journey. It isn't easy, but I know it'll be worth it

You should be so proud of yourself and although our situations are different, I strive to be as successful as you've been thus far. @@Anxious2beme Glad to hear your EKG was all clear! He probably took a sample of the acids in your stomach and your esophagus to make sure you don't have H. Pylori as well as the cells that would cause Barrett's Esophagus. (at least they did this for me, not sure if its routine to be honest) The good news is, if you are pre-diabetic, the likelihood of not becoming a diabetic with this surgery (or becoming no longer diabetic) is pretty good! Sounds like things are going smoothly. Hopefully they will submit and will approve based on you completing all of your steps, with others scheduled for the future. If not, you just keep trucking along and eventually you will get your day! Keep up the good work and thanks for the update! Good luck on your mammo tomorrow!! xo

@@GAgirlslimming Congrats on your surgery and best wishes for your recovery! I think the Protein you might be referring to is Premier Protein, but I could be wrong. This is the one that I have seen A LOT of people using after surgery that is available at both costco and Sam's/Walmart. There are a lot of protein options out there, though, but I think this might be the one you're referring to
