  1. My insurance approved the Jan 26th date!!!! Woooohoooo! And Primha, I'm dancing right now with my walker, teeth out, and hearing aid on listening to music, watching my rolls sway side to side until they realize I stopped dancing 10 minutes ago! (JUST KIDDING) LOL!!! @@katladee Congrats! I can imagine how thrilled you must be now. BTW, who are Pointer Sisters? ( JUST KIDDING!)
  2. The Dr office called today and set me a tentative surgery date for 1/26/16! FINALLY! It is tentative because my insurance still has to approve the date, but his office nor me think there should be a problem. There is a light at the end of the tunnel now! In the back of my head I keep hearing the Pointer Sister's singing "I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it"! Please don't ask me who the Pointer Sister's are because I will feel really old! LMAO!
  3. In case you are not feeling up to getting online on your birthday, let me wish you a Happy Birthday now! That summer birthday celebration, and celebrating the new you, is going to rock! Keep your eye on the prize during the holiday so you can stick to your liquids! Congrat's on your surgery, praying for a fast recovery that is basically pain free for you!
  4. Wishing everyone a wonderful and safe holiday! Hope Santa is good to you! After all, he knows "when you've been good" and stuck to your weight loss program! LOL
  5. HaHaHaHa Margie! Good one!
  6. I have only told my better half (of course, since he will be my nurse at home), my 2 adult children, a cousin, and 3 very close friends of mine. Not sure afterward if I will tell or not. I guess it depends on the person and how judgmental I think they will be. Most know I have been dieting and lost 31 lbs already. They just don't know it is for the surgery. I'm sure in social situations I will have to come up with a reason why I am only eating a cup of food. Most of my coworkers and friends know I have a hearty appetite! LOL Best wishes to all of you on your upcoming surgeries!
  7. Happy Holidays! I have completed all my requirements now, even beat the weight loss needed by one pound, so I'm just waiting to get an appointment with the surgeon to set up my date. Since he has so many already booked in January I heard, I'm probably looking at late January or early February. I'm excited, and nervous, but anxious to get it over with and begin my weight loss journey as well as my new life as a bariatric sleever!
  8. @@phatfatgirl Congratulations! Hope you are doing well, and many wishes for a wonderful holiday season!
  9. Rock the runway with those leggin's girl! You soooo deserve it? I'm wondering for further down in my journey, what are the best compression type garments anyone has found for tucking that loose skin?

    What's everyone eating for thanksgiving?

I love pickled eggs! I moved to the eastern side of PA from the western side. I had no idea there was a sweet bologna, not really a fan, and the first time I ordered chicken pot pie here they served me a bowl of soup! I said "Where is the crust?". They looked at me like I had a third eye! Amazing how things differ from one side of the state to the other! LOL Oh, and back home it is "pop" but here I had to get used to calling it "soda"!

    What's everyone eating for thanksgiving?

@@sarahbethemails, I couldn't find sugar free anywhere so I found one on Pintrest. It was 1 lb fresh cranberries, 3/4 c. Stevia in the Raw, 1 small box sugar free orange jello, and 1/2 cup of the dietOcean Spray 100% cranberry juice (I think used more like a cup because I had extra berries). Cook the berries, stevia, and diet cranberry juice until berries burst. DO NOT cook them longer than 15 mins or recipe says it makes the berries turn bad. After it has come to a boil and berries burst, remove from heat and whisk in the sugar free jello. Let set until cooled then refridgerate. Mine began to thicken as it was setting, and once cold it is just like the can stuff. Yes it is tart! But sugar free! LOL You can use other flavors of sugar free jello if you like, maybe raspberry or cherry. Wish they made a sugar free cranberry one around the holiday's!

    What's everyone eating for thanksgiving?

This is my last holiday season before surgery in 2016. I'm not going overboard because I don't want to gain any weight or the program I am in will drop me, and I start all over in this looong process. I am having lots of turkey (protein), and a wee bit of mashed taters, veggies, and I made stuffing (whole wheat bread, low fat low sodium chicken broth to cook the onions and celery in), sugar free cranberry sauce and sugar free pumpkin filling just for me and I froze it. The rest of the family gets the tradional recipe stuff. Happy Thanksgiving to all, and to all a good nap afterward! LOL

@@Elode, next time you get to PA we will have to meet somewhere! Baltimore is a great area for seafood!
  15. Good words GoWalking! I am looking forward to the little things like that after my weight loss. Like when I buy doughnuts for work and wonder if the cashier is wondering if I'm eating all those myself! LOL
  16. Hey, hey, nothing wrong with 57! LOL I just turned that in Sept! Of course, I'd rather be 35! I have lost 28 lbs on my own. My last NUT appt is on 12/9, and then I can schedule to see the surgeon and get my date. Prolly looking at late Jan or early Feb. Just want to wish everyone a happy and healthy Thanksgiving! May you all be surrounded by love, family, friends, and protein! LOL
  17. Maybe she took her new body on a 14 day cruise for her birthday! LOL Happy (Belated) Birthday Elode! We miss you!

To Tell or Not to Tell?

I96, prayers for you on your surgery tomorrow. Can't wait to hear about your experience afterward. I won't see my surgery until around late January, so I love to read about everyone's success! Wishing you all the best for your recovery, and future weight loss!

    What Your Halloween Plans?

We are not buying candy to hand out this year, instead the kiddies are getting Capri Sun pouches! So no candy in the house = not any leftovers to eat! LOL

Nice converse shoes! But I think that's cheating! Elode did say "legs" not feet! Ya gotta give a gal more than that KindaFamiliar! LOL Put your shorts on and give us ladies the hairy details! LOL

    Legs please!

Elode, great shoes!!!! Speaking of legs, did anyone's shoe size change after the weight loss? I need new orthodics but may put off spending the $400 until after surgery if that is the case.
