All I keep thinking is......it's only 8 more days....8 more days......and then I can't eat mushrooms for while anyway ???????? good luck for your op!!! xx

This bloody pre-op diet is killing me.... I'm on the liquid only and I just want to eat mushrooms.....weird I know but I am craving mushrooms.....lol! Hope everyone is doing well! xx

So how are you all feeling? I've wanted this for so many years..... But now it's a reality!!! I'm quite nervous about it, I think that is mainly because of the association/addiction I have with food!! Xx

Hi All, So my Op is scheduled for October 13th!!! I'm nervous and excited!! In going with the hospital group in the UK Got my final consultation this morning!!! Are there any other October banders out there???

Hi, I haven't even seen the surgeon yet and i have told everyone. That might be because all of my friends and family are thin so i am like the token fat bird. I have had a few tell me the obligatory "you're not that fat" (i weighed in last night at 279lbs) and a few people have said "what if you die" and i point out that i am slowly killing myself anyway. I am ready for this, it won't solve the emotional issues attached to my eating but hopefully it will stop me swallowing food without tasting it and cramming take away in to my face. I am not ashamed to need this help, its a massive big deal for me but hopefully it is one that will change me and my life forever!! Good luck hun xx

Hi Megan, Oh i think i am going to have to be on my pre-op diet on my first holiday and i will have been banded for my second!!! dammit i didn't think this through..... But I'm willing to make the sacrifice.....i am sure i can cope without getting drunk or eating, i guess this is the rest of my life How much weight have you lost so far? is it all you thought it would be? Hi All, i just have a couple of questions. I am going to see the consultant for a GB on the 1st September. I know i can ask these questions when i go but i am trying to get ahead of the game, as such. How long is the special diet before they do the band and how long after the band can i fly? I have a holiday end of Sept and another in the middle of Nov so was hoping to have it done in between the two if possible. I am having my band privately but can't find any UK forums that discuss how good the company you use is. I am looking to go with the Hospital Group just because of the aftercare they offer.....has anyone heard any positive/negatives about them or do you have any suggestions. I live in the South West but could travel anywhere in the South. I'm so excited.........i cant wait!!! TIA xx
