Huge milestone and hope for the New Year
Hello everyone! I just had to share this enormous milestone with you all. I am lucky enough to be able to ring in the new year with more hope and joy than I've felt in a long time. Before my surgery mid-August, I had a hard time believing I would lose anything at all, let alone be where I am today. I've met or surpassed all my goals, and when I woke up this morning, I was happily shocked to see that I was FINALLY into the 200s. This is a place I have not been in over a decade. I can't tell you how incredibly happy and proud I am, and just how lucky I am to have this chance to take back my life. Thank you, everyone, for always being supportive and inspirational. I hope your 2016 is absolutely kickass! The before pic is at my highest ever weight, 442, and the current is this evening at 299!

Had Gastric Bypass 1 1/2 months ago & I have gained.
This is not the end of your progress, it's just a bump in a looong road of mostly success. Stalls are frustrating and discouraging but they do happen. I recently stalled for almost a month, and I was super annoyed the entire time. But at the end of the day (or I should say the end of the year) when I take stock, I've lost almost 90 pounds in less than 5 months, and I thought that would never happens because of stalls. It all evens out in the end. Just keep your Water and Protein intake up, and maybe slightly reduce your exercise and see if that breaks it. As someone above says, a lot of exercise demands enough calories to sustain it, and if you're struggling to reach 600 you may be doing too much for your metabolism.

200 pounds a REAL look at weight loss (skin galore)
Thank you for sharing! We have similar starting weights and VERY similar body shapes. We are even the same height! This is probably a close representation of what I'll look like when I finally get there.

Ladies Question...
I have PCOS and had my first actual period since surgery late November, and it made me stall for almost 3 weeks. It's a hormone/water retention thing. :/ Really sucks, but it picked up again. Hang in there.

Why can't I sleep?
It might be just your pain medication. Or perhaps the stress of a major surgery and the complications you have been having after. Just focus on your water, walk whenever you can, and take gooooood care of yourself. It gets better.
-
Can you convert to bypass after the sleeve?
Not only is is possible, it's very common. It's one of the main reasons I chose bypass in the first place, honestly. So many people have issues or do not get to their goal with the sleeve. Then again, it works perfectly for some people. If you are not happy with where you are, then a revision may be just right for you.

Feeling weak and eating everything I find
Sounds like school has been busy and stressful and now you are trying to unwind from that. I know how hard it can be to just relax when you've been going nonstop for months. Perhaps also you may be a little depressed... do you ever talk to a therapist?

5 days post op
At this point the nerves in your stomach have not yet healed, so you're just not feeling as full as you are. I had a similar issue in the beginning. By 3-4 weeks, that had changed a lot and I could actually tell when I was full. You should be fine if you stick to your plan and listen to your body. As far as the gas pain, walking is definitely the best way to reduce that. Glad you're okay and home from a scary situation! Feel free to friend me.

5 days post gastric bypass
Completely normal. I think most, if not all, of us had the "what the hell did I do to myself?!" period. By this time next week, you'll be stunned at how much better you feel and how much you've healed. There are also a lot of crazy things happening with your hormones right now, so that doesn't help. But it will pass. Hang in there.

I have a similar body shape. How much are you down? Congratulations!

Eating Disorders and WLS
I've fought with BED for most of my life, beginning when I was a young child who would often go long periods without food because we were extremely poor for a few years after my mother got sick with MS and kidney disease. So when we had food (from food cupboard type situation) or when my mother was able to get us food (which was mostly Pasta, one of the absolute worst foods for you) I would stuff myself and then some, knowing it would be a while before I had another chance. Fortunately, we only stayed in this degree of poverty for a couple years. However, it was right during the time that I began going through puberty and developing PCOS. The hormone disorder, which flared in a huge way based on the absolute crap that I was eating and the sporadic eating, coupled with the previously mentioned issues, launched me headfirst into obesity. By the time we were able to start eating healthy again, my disorder was out of control and was not even diagnosed for many years later. I was in two sports, and was a very active, happy kid. My pediatrician, for whatever reason, never made the connection between my ballooning weight and my first period. Fast forward a through a decade of relative poverty and the crappy food that comes along with it, severe suicidal depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and a pretty bad case of BED, and I had reached 400 pounds. Now, I'm pretty much at the opposite end of the spectrum. I don't think I would go so far as to call myself anorexic or seek treatment for it, but I have a lot of anxiety based on food. I feel guilty when I eat anything, or even drink anything beside Water. When I gain a couple pounds or stall, instead of telling myself it's because of my period or whatever other reason that is actually true, I feel like I must have eaten way too much. I follow my nut's plan to the letter, though I still struggle to get all the calories I'm supposed to be getting. It's like the food that once numbed me is now a live wire that could hurt me if it gets too close. I definitely think that this is my own form of transfer addiction. And control, of course... eating disorders are all about feeling out of control.

Just a little brag..
Oh I'm extremely jealous

You and your new post op ass, a guide.
@leesa962 I was exactly like that for the first couple weeks. They weren't worried, just said to make sure I stay hydrated.

No longer in "Mommy Jeans"
The one pair of jeans I have that fit me are a size I haven't fit into for a decade. It's a great feeling, isn't it? Though I'm trying to picture "mommy jeans" and it's pretty amusing, lol

Food
@@Dark-Horse I would highly recommend myfitnesspal.com to track your food. I've been using it since before surgery and I've used it every day since and it is a HUGE help. And it's free. @@dannieeliza check out some of the Soups and other stuff in the BP store. I was getting extremely bored with y food as well but then I bought a bunch of soups, bouillons, and Entrees from there to just shake it up and I found a lot of stuff that's actually really good. I especially like the chicken with Pasta Soup, cream of chicken, cream of tomato, and beef bouillon. I bought some cheesesteak pasta and I'm excited to try it.

Amazing! I'm very close to your current weight, and I've lost about 135 from my highest. It's strange to have lost so much, and still know there's a decently long road ahead of us. But this is very inspiring, thanks for sharing. When was your surgery date?
-
6 days post op
It's hard in the beginning to know exactly when to stop, because the nerves are still healing and you're simply not going to feel full exactly when you should. Just take it slow, and you'll learn eventually exactly what amounts work for you and what doesn't.

Overall how have your moods changed?
I'm a little over 4 months post op, and the first couple months were a roller coaster of emotions for me. I spent a lot of time super depressed, or anxious, or both. Now, things are starting to balance out and my mood is definitely balancing out as well. If you do have hormonal issues, they will get better.

LOOK LOOK LOOK! I'M IN THE TWO'S
