High sodium in power aid zero.

Just checked on Emergyn (sp ) C and it has both sodium and calories (35 ca. ). I'm sticking with reducing my Power Aid Zero and Walmart Clear Water (carbonation removed or at least reduced). Thanks again and Btw I already feel better having reduced by a bunch my salt over the last two days. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Thanks for all the replies. The idea of diluting the Power Aid zero with Water and adding Crystal Light is on my list. Also, looking at ordering the Energyn C to have on hand. I am going to lay off the Power Aid for awhile and drink water and Walmart Clear American carbonated water. I am shaking the bottle several times and taking the lid off which removes most of the carbonation and letting set and pouring over ice. I have found no research proof that carbonation in moderation (or even more) will stretch the sleeve. In fact several on line doctors say carbonation is in the same category as drinking from a straw, a myth. Physically stretching the sleeve is difficult, maybe impossible. We should not confuse the stomach healing and swelling going down with the sleeve enlarging. Also, your new stomach becomes much more efficient at beginning the digestive process and moving food to the small intestine which simply means you will not feel full as long as you used to. All normal and has nothing to do with the sleeve stretching. Learning to eat right and watching calories is a life goal. Now having said this, obviously plain water (and maybe adding some crystal light or Energyn C) is better for you. Good day to all and enjoy your journey. Life is great! Steve

  4. Been a great five plus months. Started at 317 and now down to 220. I drink a lot of Power Aid Zero, probably 4 or 5 of the 32 oz. drinks a day. I gave up all carbonated drinks. I am feeling nervous/figity of an evening and believe I am consuming to much sodium. I used to enjoy the Walmart zero calorie zero sodium Clear American drinks but they are carbonated. Your thoughts on carbonation after Sleeve? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    OTC vitamins, suggestions

Should have added that I am taking 1500 mg Calcium and Vitamin D. I have seen the Flintstone plus Iron mentioned several times. The only complaint/concern I have had about my clinic is that they sell/push Protein and Vitamins at marked up prices. Some friends that have had the sleeve are not even required to take vitamin/minerals. I am 67 and probably need to be on vitamins/minerals anyway. Thank you for the replies. Off to get some Flintstones, "Yabba dabba du". Thanks Steve
  6. Eight weeks out and tired of the chewable Vitamins. NUT says to be sure vitamins are "bariatric specific". Currently taking chewable Celebrate Multi-Complete 36 with Iron. Clinic sells vitamins and will not recommend any vitamins other than the ones they sell. I'm located a ways away from the clinic and hope I can find a Vitamin. OTC locally. Not sure what "bariatric specific" means either?? Want a vitamine I do not have to chew but must have iron or I need to take an additional iron tablet. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Vertigo and dizziness

Thanks for the you tube link. Found a simple procedure where you lay across the bed on your back and let your head hang back for 60 seconds, then bring your chin up to your chest for 60 seconds (a second person helps), then set up straight for 60 seconds (do not move head). Very affective for me. Just went to a Physical Therapist and he performed a much more involved procedure that has left me very dizzy. Going to go back to the simple procedure. Just performed simple procedure and feel much better.
  8. Three weeks post op and experienced vertigo. Rolled over in bed and the world did three revolutions. Going to see primary care tomorrow as I am still a little off balance and dizzy. Called NUT and asked if the 1500 mg of Calcium could be the problem since calcium in the inner ear Fluid is the likely cause of vertigo. NUT said probably not. Anyone else experiencing vertigo? 9. Is there a web site with pureed food recipes? Thanks
  10. Going to add a smoothy from Dr. Weiner's videos. I had this before surgery and can't wait to try again when I start soft foods. One medium banana 100 calories, 1 Protein 6oz. of low fat greek yogurt 100 calories, 19 grams protein PB2 3 tbsp 80 calories, 7 grams protein Totals 280 calories, 27 grams of protein and delicious
  11. Please give me your recommendations. Hope to get two weeks of variety with plenty of protein.
  12. Thank you for the replies. I will meet with my doctor and NUT on Monday. I have been drinking Celebrate and unjury with 1% milk as directed and I am tired of the thin consistency of these mixes. Going to add a Premier Protein shake for something a little thicker today. Thanks again
  13. Been on my liquid diet for almost two weeks and feeling weak and tired with not much energy. Does starting soft foods change this?
  14. Lots of questions: Is there a best "nutritional yeast"? Different kinds? Best place to buy? Difference between flakes and ground? How much should you have? Can the yeast be put in a shaker and applied like salt/pepper? Thanks, I want to have this product on hand when I start my soft foods next week.
  15. Good for you. I'm only four days out and am able to sleep like when I was a kid, deep and restful.
