  1. Those sound SO good. Thank you for sharing! I've been wanting to try wonton wrappers.
  2. Hi Karen! I had bypass on 9/25! And in a few months I'm moving to Seattle. How have you been since surgery? Gina
  3. @@sarahbee Thank you so much! I just ordered some from Amazon.
  4. @@Veronica_mm How do you take your fish oil? I've tried straight from the bottle and also mixing it with yogurt and it is just....blah. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
  5. I made it! Everything went fine. Thank you for all your sweet thoughts!
  6. Tomorrow is my big day! Surgery in the am. So excited but so nervous!
  7. Sending good thoughts and prayers your way! I'm having surgery tomorrow! We should be buddies!
  8. Had my pre op appointment this morning! Everything is set for 9/25. Started my all liquid diet today. Doing ok but have a killer headache. So excited for next week!!
  9. Syntrax nectar is great! I don't like most shakes and get tired of just having chocolate. So the nectar fruit flavors were a really wonderful thing to find. I bought a sample pack of all their flavors from "my bariatric pantry"
  10. Thank you all for the warm wishes! I got nervous because I was still waiting on 1 clearance until this afternoon - but I finally got it! And my surgery day is confirmed still for 9/25. @ I start my liquid diet tomorrow. My surgeon only wants me to do the liquid diet for 1 week prior to surgery
  11. I'm so happy I'm gonna cry! Anyone else on 9/25?
  12. Well I feel better that I'm not the only one with that question. Thank you!
  13. I know this may seem like a silly thing to be concerned with, but I can't stop thinking about it. So I know with bypass our old stomach gets cut/stapled at the top and stays connected at the bottom to the small intestine. But since it's only connected on one side does it flop around? Or do the other organs keep it snug in place? I hope my question makes sense! Thanks!
  14. I need cardiac clearance and a sleep study.
  15. I would also highly recommend seeing a therapist to help you figure out your triggers for overrating and emotional eating. I was diagnosed with binge eating disorder and have been seeing a therapist for 6 months. She has helped me immensely get control of my mindset and I've learned to deal with my emotions without using food to cope.
  16. My surgeon told me no sex for 2 weeks after surgery.
  17. Thank you all for the tip. I will see if I quality. I won't get my hopes up though since my insurance won't cover one bit of my surgery. The least they can do is buy me some protein right!
  18. This is so great! I'm going to attempt to add you all as friends on here.
  19. Hi everyone! I'm preop too with surgery happening sometime in September. I still need my sleep study and cardiac clearance. I'm getting very excited but nervous too! Gina
  20. I think you should talk with a malpractice lawyer. I'm so glad you are in recovery.
  21. Well I'm very excited for you! We can be buddies! My bypass should be scheduled within the next month or two so we can go through this together. I'm lucky that most of my family has been supportive of my decision. But there will always be those that don't get it. When I tell people I always bring up how bypass has a great long-term success rate. Also, my surgeon goes out of his way to constantly say that severe obesity is a disease. And a disease that needs surgery to fix. Please keep me posted on your progress. And I hope you don't mind, but I added you as a friend on here. Gina
  22. I will be self-paying. My insurance does not cover anything! Ugh. So cost of bypass is going to be $21,000 which includes everything. I was able to get $8,000 loan from Care Credit which helps.
  23. I wanted to say hello to everyone. I live in Arizona right now and will be having my surgery here. But at the beginning of 2016 we'll be moving to the Seattle area. So I thought it'd be fun to find some buddies in Washington and hopefully attend your support groups when I get up there. I'm waiting for my surgery to be scheduled, but I imagine I'll be having my bypass in late August/early September. Gina
