  1. Honey go for it! Congratulations on doing something for "YOU"!!! if I had the dollars I would have lipo,a butt lift,tummy tuck and whatever else I wanted to have done.If you are happy then that's it....no judgements!
  2. No bulimia ...but I can't plan my meals in an organized fashion because I can't always tolerate the simplest of things.For example.Eggs and omelette no go.Lean protein say chicken breast or lean meat....barf .The only food that works for me is cream of wheat.My stomach is sour and the acid reflux is a constant bother.I sometimes can't eat for hours....the band tightens at will.I go to a restaurant with my family. I have this puffy full feeling yet I am hungry.I take a bite and seconds later I am in the restroom vomiting up because something is stuck or reflux.I slime and spit up frequently.Sometimes I can tolerate foods...sometimes not.This is no way to live.I want it out!This is my life with the band.Uncertainty.
  3. All I know is that this Lap band I have is a nightmare.Any of the other 2 procedures are better.
  4. I may need to go to the ER the next time this happens.My consult is a whole week away.
  5. For Hernia...yes something is wrong.Will do.PCP or Surgeon? does it matter who request s the test?
  6. There is a high lap band failure rate...insurance should be glad to cover the sleeve revision...it's easier for them.They save money in the long run
  7. I need off the lap band ride.I really need Insurance to approve a revision. I can't take it anymore....I have had this band since 2004.I have just about gained all the weight back and I am a secret bulimic because I am constantly throwing up and sliming.i want a revision to the sleeve.I don't want another needle in me...my port is always sore.I feel disgusting.I am seeing a dr in a week but in lots of pain,reflux. What are the steps and timeline generally to get insurance approval and/or response once dr office submits claim?
  8. All this for a revision? I am in pain...a lot of hoops!I have to buckle up and follow the drill!I should of never had the band in the first place!
  9. Wow I am impressed!ICongratulations,I have an ongoing tenderness and pain at my port site ,reflux ongoing.My doctor thinks the next time I have a flair up I should go to the ER.Get it documented before my consultation next week.I am so worried that My insurance will not pay.
  10. 91 pounds???!!!I would be in heaven!Men have a much easier time.I think the sleeve is the only sane option for me.I have PCOS,history of a blood clot,insulin resistance.High cholesterol...my PCP is concerned.My port site protrudes and is sore.My back (left hand side hurts,burping,acid reflux,Post breast cancer.Putting on weight after breast cancer is not cool.I am going in to see this new dr with all guns blazing.I don't want to hear diet?I can't diet because I can't always tolerate foods or even tea sometimes.I am a bigger thanks to the ban.Sometimes I can eat with no problem other times ugh.Always hungry.Miserable.

  12. Thanks.I see the dr in a week.My PCP is supportive and I am getting my gynecologist to write me a letter of reference.Gotta try hard.

  15. Hey Rebecca I am in NJ and I am seeking a revision to a sleeve.I would definitely like to become a buddy.I will be seeing this new Dr next week.I really am miserable with this band.I have HJ Horizon so it is probably going to be a journey.

  17. I am going to see this doctor in a week.He is in Cheery Hill NJ.Anyone know of him?I know he is known for lap bands but I want a sleeve revision.

I was banded in 2004.At that time it was band or bypass.I chose the Band.I am and have been miserable for years.I have completed me to terms with the fact that the band never really worked for me.I was initially 269 and got down to 219.never saw those incredible results.I have struggled with port site bain,bloating,port pain,aches and sliming and vomiting up.I have a "Barf" bag that I have on hand.I am always hungry,acid reflux is off the hook!I am a bulimic because I never know when I can keep it down.Had my gallbladder out 5 years ago.I am going to the doctor to see about a gastric sleeve revision.I am miserable and in pain. I have horizon NJ Health.I need them to cover this revision
  19. I have a band and I am seeing Dr Goldstein about a revision to a sleeve.I am afraid of a bypass.I find it interesting that your doctor recommended a bypass.I have had PCOS for years.The band is a complete failure."Bypass?? Didn't Carnie Wilson have the bypass?
