Ridiculously long time waiting for insurance approval
Yes indeed...you have to jump through hoops and then wait..my doctors office knew this and pre scheduled me while I was awaiting approval.It took them 3 weeks ...and I had already started the pre op diet before I got the call that I was approved. Also I think the insurances work with the hospitals in knowing how many patients they are capable of handling in a month....They make a conscious effort to delay many cutting it close...end of year procedures...Quotas...

Go somewhere else.Having the procedure done in a hospital is just as good as your place.You are going to have surgery not lounge at a getaway spa.You don't need the drama from catty idiots.Keep your business separate.Do not in your life get a lapband.?..pure misery....

Three weeks out
Everyone is different...I have PCOS and a sluggish thyroid.I am also a revision and over 50....ugh a long slow process awaits but I will work as hard as I can.

Hang in there.My surgery is December 28.What is different is my doctor prescribed a soft foods ( no sugar kind of pre op diet.I can have cottage cheese,yogurt,protein drinks and one protein with salad for dinner.Now since my surgery is on December 28 ... Countdown 2 days away.I am going to flush my system out starting this evening.2 to 3 bottles of citrate of magnesia ,Miralax and lemon tea to ensure my bowels are flushed out and clean for surgery.I am also going to get " Hibiclens "antiseptic wash and bathe/shower with it and use in hospital.Too many bacteria in hospitals....germaphobe here.The day before is all liquids...this is important...very important...We are both on our journey...,yahoo!!!

6 months
I had metatastic breast cancer back in 2012...I am opting for this surgery because on top of being overweight and not achieving goal with the lapband which I have had miserably since 2004 never reaching near goal.I put on another 50 pounds which raises my chances of reoccurrence.I am scheduled for December 28....your post is inspirational....

Gastric bypass December 15th 2015
Sorry to hear this...hopefully it will get better.I was told to get an antibacterial wash "Hibiclens".There are many bacteria germs in hospital.I was instructed to apply it from nipple point down.The bar and has quite a few products you should check out,You can get it at Walmart or your local drugstore.I plan on picking some up. What is going on with you isn't normal.A fever...keep me posted..your doctor needs to address this or go to the ER...there they definitely must address it.

4 weeks to get approval and all tests?Wow...It took me more than months .Dr appointments,lab tests etc...3 weeks for approval but I am ready...thanks for sharing your journey and your truth,Inspirational.

360+ pounds?!? help!
This is why I am going for a revision from lapband which is pure misery to bypass.I definitely will not be sitting in the group of 3x is a WLS charm.I have developed so many issues thanks to lapband which is a failure and has done its share of damage...I can't afford to cut 85% of my stomach.no way... I am getting a revision to bypAss December 28.Cant wait to start my new successful journey...
