  1. Hi, I'm 19 days post-op. The night before last I noticed the scab on my biggest incision had fallen off and it was leaking yellow fluid. It seemed to seal up overnight but today it started again, and it's more orange than yellow. Is this dangerous??
  2. Thank you! I will try that! Do you have to stand when eating/drinking??
  3. Hi. I'm in the soft foods stage (everything has to be mush) currently. I just had a meeting with my surgeon and he said I have to be standing when drinking/eating. I find this really difficult because i have to be eating for 30 minutes, then drinking for 2 hours, then eating again. So I have basically no time to just sit down. Does anyone else have to do this? He also told me to ignore when eating becomes painful and just keep eating. I'm currently eating just 2-3 spoons of whatever I'm eating, but he told me I have to eat a lot more, even though it really hurts. Does anyone else have to do this as well?? I was also told I have to be speed-walking 20 mins every day, going up by 5 minutes each week, and by the 5th/6th week I should be doing 3km a day in 50 minutes?? That honestly doesn't sound possible to me at all, even before surgery, and I'm really stressed about it. I don't mind walking I just... don't think I can walk that far/that fast? Thanks for any answers!!
  4. Thank you both, that's really helpful and good to know!!
  5. Hi, this is my first post here. I'm still in the stages of speaking to my surgeon/nutritionist/psychologist about whether I can get the surgery and one of the issues that came up was that in the first 3-4 months after surgery, many medications won't be well absorbed. This is an issue because I have depression and anxiety issues and I'm on a few medications for them - one is in a gel capsule that my nutritionist said could be more easily absorbed but the others aren't. So I was wondering if anyone had been through something like this and had any er, advice?? Or experience on the issue or something? I will be talking to a psychiatrist that is more experienced on the issue and my own psych but I thought I should ask to see if someone had possibly had a similar experience...
