I should find out my date today They said they were trying to get it scheduled before year end. I really hope so because I've met my deductible so my out of pocket cost have dropped!
  3. I'm interested in this also. Going in today to sign consent and schedule the surgery date today.

    Awesome news!

Yesterday, I got the call I've been waiting for! My insurance approved the surgery. I'm going in tomorrow to sign consent forms and get my surgery date scheduled. I can't believe it's here after what felt like such a long wait. I'm excited, nervous, and anxious all at the same time! What an awesome call to receive on my birthday!
  5. Hopefully getting sleeved this month. Going to sign my consent forms tomorrow and schedule my surgery date. Super excited but nervous too!
  6. So, my original sleep study test was scheduled for 9/18. I just got a call from Sleep Solutions saying they had an opening for tonight if I wanted to do it. I said yes after I made arrangements for my daugther. So after tonight, it looks like I'll have all my requirements when I meet with the surgeon on 9/16. Everything seems to be going fast!! I've never done a sleep study, kinda wondering if I'll even sleep well with all this stuff attached to me.
  7. Last night was the Worst sleep I've ever had. I could not find a comfortable position to sleep in. I'm a belly sleep but was told I'd have to be on my back or side. I was tired and trying to fall sleep at 10:15pm. It wasn't until sometime after 12:30am that I fell asleep and it wasn't a great sleep because I kept waking up. I never have problems going to bed at home, just ask my husband lol. He gets mad because a minute after my head hit's the pillow I'm sleeping. That was not the case last night. I hope they got enough testing to get their diagnosis.

    Louisiana Sleevers?

I am going thru Surgical Specialist of Louisiana in Mandeville. I will meet my surgeon (Dr Redmann) for the 1st time on 9/16. I'm currently in the process of getting my requirements completed. I had my psych eval last week and my sleep study is scheduled for 9/18. Hopefully all goes well and they can send my info to the insurance for approval so I can get a surgery date.
  10. I'm hoping for a late October, November or December surgery date. I just did my psych eval today. My 2 other requirements are sleep study which is scheduled for 9/18 and also a 30 day follow up with my surgeon which is scheduled for 9/16. After I complete those then we can submit for insurance approval and get a date scheduled. I'm seeing the Surgical Specialist of Louisiana in Covington, my surgeon is Dr Redmann.

    Belly sleepers

I'm wondering if it'll be close to the same as when I had my c-section. I slept on my belly that same night after delivery. I just had to move really slow because sudden movements hurt.
  12. Dr Lavin did the sleeve on a co-worker of mine. He speaks great things about him. I was referred to Dr Redmann who I've heard is really great and personable. I'll be meeting him Sept 18th!

    Prayers needed please

Sending prayers for you and your wife.
  17. I saw the NP yesterday for my 1st visit. I'm choosing the sleeve so she went over the basics of that. My insurance only requires the psych eval and 30 day follow up with the surgeon. My psych eval is scheduled for next Tuesday 8/25 and Ill meet my surgeon on 9/16. The surgeon requires a sleep study test so I'm waiting to hear from them on that. I'm to follow up if I don't hear anything in a week. The NP also said that if I get my requirements completed before I meet with the surgeon that she can get everything put together and sent to my insurance for approval and start looking at surgery dates! I'm like WOAH, this is all moving fast for me. I wasnt expecting for everything to move so quickly. Don't get me wrong, I'm SUPER excited just thinking about being a new slimmer me next year but at the same time I'm a bit nervous. I've never been put under for surgery and that scares me a little. The only other surgery I've had was a c-section and that wasn't so bad. But I know in my heart this is what I want. I want to be something I've never ever been in my life....Thin & Healthy!!! OAN -I've gotten my pre-op diet. The phase 1 liquid diet is optional but I think I'll give it a go. Says to do it for 3-7 days then on day 8 start a low cal diet 1000-1200 cals a day. Time to really get strict on what I put in my body, gotta get this liver shrunk down so everything is a go once surgery is scheduled!
  18. @@hilaryglynxo I've only told a select few for right now, those being my sister, my husband, one sister in law, 2 coworkers -one of which was sleeved in April, my direct manager, and 3 of my aunts. They have all been very supportive thus far. I wish you all the luck on your wls journey!
  19. Amazing results, Congratulations!! Looking forward to my surgery. I'm only just beginning now as I sit and wait for the NP at my first consultation.
  20. I look forward to: *shopping in a non plus size store. *sitting in my husband's lap without feeling like I'm crushing him *and lastly getting pregnant one last time minus all the complications I had before.
  21. I got the call back from the surgeons office....my insurance has been verified. I meet with the NP next Tuesday. I'll get my packet of all the other appointments I'll need to make - psych eval, etc. I'll get my WLS soon enough, totally stoked!!!

    Looking for preop friends :)

Hi, I'm in Louisiana and I'm way pre-op lol. Just starting my WLS journey. Im going for my consultation Tuesday where I'll get a list of all requirements to complete. But soon I'll be where you all are now! Good luck to all of you on your upcoming surgeries!
  23. Hello everyone! I've been surfing the forums for the past week and just felt it was time to make my introduction. I'm Raven, 34 years old, married with a beautiful 3 year old daugther. I've been overweight for the majority of my life. I've made several attempts to lose weight over the last 10 years. I've tried the Atkins diet, visiting 2 weight loss clinics, joined a gym, and even hired a personal trainer. I've had no problem losing the weight but maintaining has proved very difficult. I've never really considered WLS until recently. A co-worker was sleeved this past April and after speaking with him several times and seeing his results (60lbs to date), I feel this is what i truly want. I saw my PCP 2 days ago and they have sent my referral to the surgeons office. I've called to set up my first consultation, just waiting for a call back. I can't wait to hear back from them and get this process started.

    Crazy question

I was wondering this as well. I had a c-section and tho it was painful, it was bearable. I remember the first night after giving birth, I slept on my stomach because I had missed sleeping in that position.
