  1. Thank you all very much!
  2. Hello Friends!!! Been a bit of a wait but I have posted interval updates on my changes. Well Here I am 10 months out and feeling like a NEW PERSON!! I am down 170 pounds well a head of DRs plan!!! He is very happy.. But more importantly my kids are happy! There is so many positives to list and that's a good thing! I hope every one is doing great and if still on the fence all I can say is if you want it and are mentally disciplined then you will be successful. This is not a cure all I make food choices every day that keep me going strong. Some days I want to eat junk then I look at my old pants I keep around for a reminder and that feeling goes away very fast. LOL. Best of luck to you all!!!!!
  3. Hello, I am 105 down since surgery day. Good luck on your journey!
  4. Hello everyone!! Just another check in with my progress. It will mark 4 months on the 28th of DEC and as of today I am down 105 pounds! I am cautious about what I eat but I do not go crazy. I do not do pasta, or bread more so soft bread that sucks... Crazy thing is I am not even wanting it. I find other things! I can say as of today I feel this is the best choice I have ever made in my life! Good luck everyone!! If there are any questions I would answer them the best I can!
  5. Thanks! Ya he is pretty happy with my progress. I have more goals to achieve so I keep working. Thanks for reading!
  6. Hello everyone!! Been awhile since I posted but just wanted to jump on and give an update. I had my surgery 8-30-15 I was 379Lbs at time of surgery. I was 391 before that. Anyway I am now 2 months out and as of Monday 11-2-15 I am 310!!! I weigh myself once a week and once a week only! I have read countless post about people getting upset with weight and then you find out the check it everyday. Our bodys fluctuate day to day so the one thing I can say to those considering getting the surgery and those fresh out of it is DO NOT CHECK EVERYDAY, give yourself some time and do it once a week right in the morning when you get up and set a goal to be lower then that on next weigh. It gives you little goals and makes sure you stay focused on doing the right things so you can hit that mark. Like many have said this is not a magic bullet it is just a tool and will need your participation to get the maximum benefit. Well good luck everyone and I will check back in soon!!

    HAD IT DONE!

Thanks so much Dancingqueene! I am feeling alot better all is working normal! I am down 20LBS since my surgury date weight thats 20 in just a little over a week!!!! I am walking and just getting outside. Last night was mentally tough. I went to a baseball game and at the statioum all you smell is the foods!! The hambugurgers, fries, and there was a bbq place right next to us it was murder but I drink my shake and followed that with some Water and I was good. The hard part is the smells make you think your hungry but you need to relize your not!!! that is a huge adjustment from my previous days!!

Also. The DR. said the firsdt 2 weeks is rough but damn. Its like every commercial I see is something that I want to eat a buger/ steak something like that!! We went to whole foods yesterday and my kids where hungry so we geot them some of the food they have there thats cooking and selfserve. The smells killing me so I just walked away and started getting some of the broth that we can eat. They have a miso broth that I tried and that was good. what are/did you all eat for 2 weeks besides protein shakes!

    HAD IT DONE!

Well here is my update. I got to the hospital at about 1:30 and was on the table at 3:15. I was ok a little nervouse leading up to it but when they put the iv in and all that it got REAL. The hospital would not let my son in to see me in the "staging area" if you will, The nurse was nice enough to let me out of bed so I could go the hall and see my wife and son. I looked him right in his little eyes (he is 5) and told him that he means the world to me and daddy loves him with all his heart. I would love to post what he responded with but.. it was one of those very emotional things..and coming from a 5 year old got me all chocked up.. Anyway!! here I am a day out from the surgery and feeling a little better. My lower back was the worst of it when waking. it was horrible. I get some sharp pains on my left side and was told it is gas. I have yet to pass gas and never thought I would be eagerly awaiting it but I am!!!! Well that's my story so far every thing went great so far and just taking it one day at a time, Thanks all!!! the support and just reading others exp has helped me a great deal!

Thanks for all the kind words! I am ready to go and looking foward to getting back the active person I was before!
  13. So as the days and nights slip by and get closer to "THE DAY" I am getting very nervous! I look at my kids and think what if something goes wrong! My little girl starts 2nd grade and my son is going to kindergarten starting MONDAY. I try to think of all the positives and work it out in my head but it is very hard to not be scared a little bit. I am going to show up and conquer the day but WOW I did not think I would be getting this caught up. NOT if but WHEN things get good I will be home Sunday I think the Dr. said so I will post an update if any one is interested. please send good vibes my way I need them!! Have a great night!
