Thanks for that info, I've been to the ER previously, they gave me IV fluids, and told me to increase my Fluid intake, so I started back on the full liquid diet today, and so far I've been able to hold it down, so for the next week or 2, liquids is what I will be doing.

Hello All, I'm curious ... I'm 6wks out, will be 7 wks come Monday, and I'm having some issues. I've been vomitting and dizzy and having headaches, I was fine up until about 3 wks ago. The Dr. says it just Migraines but I'm curious to know if anyone else has had any problems like this or similar, since having surgery. And what helped you if so, I was given prescriptions and they are helping some.

you got thisSurgery Date 12/21/15.
My sensitive feelings when people would choose not to sit next to me on the bus. To be with my girlfriends and know the cat calls are never for me. The way people make acrobatic moves to get out of my way like I'll break something if they brush against me. Feeling clumsy and heavy all the time. Like the only reason that I am so clumsy IS because I am so heavy. Everyone stopping for me while I stop to catch my breath (for what felt like an eternity) while walking on a hike that they felt was easy. Scared to do thrill rides with embarassment of being excused when I
can't fit or the ride wont lock. And then if i can do a thril ride, there is the fear that I'll be the exception and be the 'freak accident' and described as the overweight woman who should have known better when its told on the local news later that day. Sick of the yo yo changes in weight. And weight coming back with a vengance each time, worse than it left. Like a right third hip and growing back boobage.
But the last straws:
1. about to turn 40 next year.
2. diagnosed with diabetes early this year.
3. unable to wear cute shoes and boots due to foot pain.
I am on day #6 of the liquid pre-op diet. The gassy headaches have finally stopped. And its not so bad.
This has to work! Correction: I have to make it work.

How long did it take, is there any recovery period etc

Hello everyone, hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving, I haven't been in here in a while, but today I come with exciting news, I got approved and my surgery date is January 11th, 2016; I'm excited and anxious. I start my pre op diet on the 28th of this month, I'm not looking forward to it, but I know it will be worth it.

congrats!Yeah!! Congrats to the new comers and way to go to all who have started the journey. Sleeved on July 21st--23 lbs down, but at a stall--hope it moves on next week! I'm okay with it tho, because I'm more excited about my break up with food:). I'm mentally ready to see food as substance to live, and not something to over indulge in. Best wishes!

New here and so glad I found this thread. I don't have a date yet, but I've been to a seminar, seen the dietician, and therapist, so far everything is going good and moving along pretty fast. I see the Bariatric Dr again at the end of this month, and hopefully I will have a date set. Good luck to all of you ladies, and I look forward to hearing your stories and updates.

@@ssflbelle I haven't heard of that insurance, but you may want to call the member services number on the card.

A bariatric seminar is a good thing to go to if they have them in any of you alls area, I went to one tonight, the speakers were the bariatric Dr, and surgeon, it was very informative, and answered a lot of my questions.

I have PCOS, insulin resistant, and metabolic issues, as well as high blood pressure, and my Dr recommended the sleeve. Like others said, I'd get a second opinion. With either one you choose, I wish you much success, and the same to everyone else!
-
Thank you for responding, so far I haven't had any issues, I should know for sure by the end of the month.
-
For me it's the constant sticking with needles for my insulin and checking my blood sugar, being dependent on blood pressure pills and just being too big. I want to be healthy and fit, and this is my beginning!
-
Thanks, mine is with the state, hopefully there isn't a big difference.
-
Does anyone have BCBS of FL? And was it difficult to get approved?

New to this ... Had my first appointment on the 16th ... And I too am looking for friends that are on this journey! My best friend and brother know and they're very supportive.

Sorry that happened to you. I drank a liter of Pedialyte for 2 days, and I can see a difference, so broth, Water, Protein shakes and Pedialyte will be my best friends for the next few weeks. I'm so thankful for a site like this, there's so much good info we can pass around.
