Insurance gave Dr wrong coverage info?!
I just want to say that I am SO sorry this is happening to you. I hope and pray it will work out. If you self-pay your insurance they really owe you bigtime, and even if you don't I think they should follow through. That isn't right to do to a customer.

Hello from Spouse of Sleever in London
Hi there! Nice people on here. As for supporting your wife, just know it can be a little tough at first. I was super sore and weak for about three weeks following my surgery. I am an insulin dependant diabetic but I healed pretty quick. Hope your wife heals rapidly as well and welcome!

Feeling miserable and weak
I am am five weeks yesterday and I am just starting to get over having "trembly hands"! I am also an insulin dependant diabetic using a pump and the low blood sugar is making me feel weak a lot but at three weeks I was just starting to come out of the 'haze'. Hang on! You'll get better!

Prayers needed please
I read through your trials and tribulations just after I had my surgery. I am so sorry to hear this latest development. You have been through enough. You will be in my prayers. Our God is a great God, and through him all things are possible. Bless you.

BariActiv chewable multivitamins - strong reaction (empty stomach?)
I got on these things through the appointment with a nutritionist back in April. While I didn't have surgery until this week, this stuff started coming monthly in May. Now that I am trying to use them (started prior to surgery) I find them absolutely repulsive! They are too big, too citric, too dry... just awful. The only thing I can bear are the weekly nasal Nascobal. I think I am gonna cut my losses and find something that will not make me gag and heave each time I have to take them. PLUS you have to take 2 at a time, twice a day, and at least two hours away from Iron. I'm a teacher going back to work in three weeks. If I am getting nauseous that much every day, let's just say that ain't cool. Looks like others are not pleased with this stuff either. Sorry I didn't do my own research on this one... I've got threefour months of the things sitting here.

Still miserable begging for advice
Just posted to a similar comment elsewhere. I got my sleeve done Monday the 27th and I thought afterward I had made the worst mistake of my life. They got me out trying to walk that evening and I had to shuffle along bent over I was in such pain. I'm kinda surprised you're on cream of wheat- I just tried to get down Protein shakes yesterday. In the hosp. I was on a tiny bit of broth, powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury protein Jello and a SF popsicle (God bless those popsicles!). My lungs *ached* and I cried when I had to do the breathing treatments. Got dizzy, etc (morphine might have had something to do with that). NOW I am up at 2:23 EST because my right hip is killing me and I have what feels like gas trapped under my left shoulder blade. It's been rough, but I think I can make it and so can you. Of course, it you get concerned with the pain call your DR, but I think there is a emotional pain we are dealing with that can cause physical pain as well. I have run the gamut from despair to anger to sadness to fear to you-name-it. AND hurt all the while. I don't know what kind of diet you've been given but I'm thinking that grains like you mentioned might be a little tough. I am diabetic among other things and all my pills and these *&^% Vitamins are killing me going down! In fact, late Monday night after my first meal & meds I woke up and before I could get to the bathroom I threw up. Scared me to death but I was okay. You can do this. Risa

Surgery Wednesday still in pain?
Yes! I am up in the night right now with pain. I had my sleeve done Monday and I am not only sore on the laparo sites but my left hip is cramped up and I've still have a lot of gas pain. I just took a 2mg morphine to see if it will ease off. I wonder if mine has to do with the fact that am an insulin dependent diabetic (using a pump 5-plus years) and already had a lot of aches and pain to begin with. Or maybe I am just a wimp. This week has been tough but I feel as if I've come a long way. Risa

Cheated on liquid diet
I did too! I went in this Wed. for my pre-op appt and the Dr. asked- "Hey, you wanna go next Monday instead of August 3rd?" I said I would and they started me on that Cabbage Soup diet that was supposed to be so great a few years back. AKA The Miami Heart Institute Diet, AKA Sacred Heart Diet, supposedly for people having heart surgery, blah blah.Well, it was 3:30 when I got outta there so I went and bought all this junk to make the soup and the bizarre things you could eat with it. That meant 4 and 1/3 actual days on the 7 day plan. Did fine until today I went to lunch with my husband thinking I could eat a salad (it is soup and all the vegetables and fruit you could eat day: what IS this diet?). I fell apart and had MANICOTTI. And it was good. Now I am scared I am gonna have an enormous liver. I am diabetic AND have HBP AND high cholesterol AND Irritable Bowel Syndrome (lemme tell you: cabbage soup and IBS do NOT play well with one another!) Have a I screwed the pooch and need to fess up for Monday? Or do I shut up and see what happens? Almost seems a moot point since I have not followed the diet for the prescribed amount of days, and it's not a liquid diet at that. What's it all about, Alphie?
