    It's going down tomorrow

OKCPaul: Long time no talk! Sorry I haven't been frequenting this forum. I've been mostly on another weight loss forum. You made your goal weight! I just this week made it to 170lbs. I'm no longer overweight, I'm wearing size 32 pants! There actually is plenty to find on Dr. Jorge Maytorena. I would look him up, then you will see is full name has another word in it. Search for him by that. Longterm VSG, and JL Prado surgery center had all his surgeon registry numbers on file. I loved him because he was quiet and reserved. He wasn't full of hot air. I'm willing to tell anyone who needs about the experience. PM me and I'll get back to you this weekend.

okcpaul: I just wanted to update you. I had my surgery and it went awesome. I was actually surprised how little pain I felt! Are you able to feel full yet? I'm on week 2 diet and I still have trouble telling if I'm full, sometimes burping right after eating makes it feel like I'm hungry again.
  3. Is your husband overweight as well? I'm guessing he's just feeling insecure and doesn't realize how he is hurting your feelings. Let him know and ask for his support!

I work from 4 days a week and Monday's in the office. I'm having the surgery on Saturday. I'll take Monday/Tuesday off and work from home the rest of the week which is computer design. I hope it's enough time. I also found out in Mexico they don't really opiates for any surgery you have so it's not just the clinics. If having an opiate or strong pain killer is important to you, you'll need to get a doctor here to prescribe some which I might do just in case.

When I googled I found that many people stateside were prescribed liquid oxycodone or vicodin. OKCPaul I assume they gave you a pain killer IV right after surgery? Maybe this was part of it. I'll ask the clinic, but probably won't have a chance to call until Tuesday.

I forgot about the part where your stomach is smaller. I heard some drugs are too strong/harsh on your stomach in the beginning. I could see how vicodin or oxycodone might be an issue. I have a lower pain tolerance as well. I'm going to ask my US doctor about, and talk to the clinic in TJ. OKCPaul, I'm in California so I could definitely get a prescription for marijuana. However I'm actually one of the 10% that's allergic too it. Makes me break out in hives. I've heard a lot of good things about it working for exactly what you are using it for. Glad you found something that works.

I'm a little surprised ketorolac tromethamine (toradol) is the pain medication they give. I'd prefer something a controlled substance pain medication after surgery. Does it seem to work when you take it? My fear is probably most related to pain. Thanks for sharing so much. Really helps out.

Today is the 4th day for you? Thanks for the update. It's great you got some B-12. Those can actually make you feel better at least in IV form. So you're 6 feet - 268lbs? That's not even very heavy. I'm definitely on the lower BMI side. I used to be so skinny and athletic until about 10 years ago. I'm just excited to not be tired all the time. PM me later if you don't wanna post the label pictures everywhere. Cheers.

Thanks for the awesome write up. That answer a lot of my questions. I'd love to see the pill bottles so I can figure out the medications. My stupid fear now is pain, so I hope the meds they give you help. I'll definitely walk around as much as possible. How are you feeling today? How tall are you? It seems like your weight is very similar to mine 260/5'10. Cheers!

What are the medications including the pain pills they prescribed? They mentioned that most of them were Mexican and I'm very curious. Did you have any problems getting picked up from airport? We're they holding a sign or? Going to same Doctor August 15th. How long did EKG and bloodwork take? Did they cath you before while you were awake? Hope you are resting. When you feel better Id love to hear all the details. Cheers

    Denied! ????

Have you considered having your surgery in TJ, Mexico? It's not the 3rd world, has great doctors and you can get surgery, hotel, and such completely done for around $4000. Just put it on a credit card and get it done! Have you considered having your surgery in TJ, Mexico? 12. Judy I'm going to get the sleeve. I'm not concerned that I won't get to eat enough, mostly I didn't know how weird the rest of my life will be. Eventually I'll be eating somewhat normally just smaller portions right? I've never been a big bread, pasta carb person so I'm not going to miss those things. Mostly I want to eventually be able to have some salad and veggies and not appear too strange when eating with friends. Cheers.
  13. I guess I don't understand the basics. When do you go back on a normal diet? Can you ever eat normally again? Does the stomach stretch out some? Or normalize? Will I still be eating rabbit pellet snacking of food in 6mo, 1 year, 5 years? I assume the new stomach stretches a bit? Please clarify this.
  14. Elode: Your pictures look really good. If the arms bother you the good news is it's really affordable to get an "arm lift" even in the most expenses areas of the US (Like $700 per arm). I know this because a family member had it done in northern california. I'm sure you don't need it, but keep it in mind if it's something that really bothers you. I really do think the pictures look amazing. 8 months an almost to your goal weight! Can I ask a few more silly questions?: • In someone's youtube video she said he pee is very dark (almost brown) and smelly. Is this the case 8 months in? Or was this person just not drinking enough Water? • Do you find now that it's been this long that you can eat a little more normally? Or will I still be eating a half cup of food for the rest of my life? Thanks so much for sharing!
  15. Thanks for sharing! This is really helpful. Do you find you have loose skin? Based on my body I'm assuming /hoping I won't have any loose skin. I think people have said that it firms up around a year in. Have you had lots of stalls? Thanks so much for sharing.
