    Protein?

I use Isopure low carb chocolate. I would recommend that you don't buy a lot before surgery since your tastebuds will (most likely) change a bit. I bought a lot, and I have two huge containers of different brands because they just didn't sit well or taste right after surgery.

Hey guys! I hope everyone has a great Easter tomorrow. I hope everyone is doing well. The weight loss posted in the last few posts are awesome! Keep up the good work! I have to say that I have been really frustrated with food and eating the last couple of days. My doctor wants me to strictly stick to just protein until I've lost 60% of what I need to lose. I don't eat pork or red meat, so I am sick of what I've been eating. I want some veggies!!! I even picked up a cookie today, was gonna eat it, then put it back. I was proud of myself. I am really scared about all of the deliciousness that I will encounter tomorrow. I would love it if anyone could talk me off the ledge that I'm on. Uggggg!

Thanks, guys! My goal weight is 140. I am triplet, and am currently the biggest of the three. My skinny clone is probably about 130, but I am a bit taller, so 140 seems doable.

Hey guys! I can't believe it's been a month already! I weighed in today and I am 26 pounds down! I can't believe it! I'm 5'5, and my preop weight was 244.5 and today I'm 216.6. I was not expecting such a loss, so I'm thrilled. Starting a regular diet today, so that's a plus, too. [emoji1]

    Constantly ...

I know that one of the bad habits I got into pre op was a vicious cycle of negative talk. The negative talk never helped, and usually only led to more negative self talk. Go easy on yourself. Regret is useless. You know your error, now move on. Focus on how far you come and how amazingly forgiving and awesome your body is.

    coffee

I'm a month out and was just cleared for coffee. Went to Trader Joe's and bought their low acid French Roast. The acid causes ulcers, not the caffeine. I am usually a 3 cup a day drinker, but I was happy with just one cup (just black for me). We'll see how things go.
  7. Walk, walk, walk. You need to move your body to get the gas out.

    Dizziness/Feeling of fainting

I'm almost 4 weeks out and have had similar problems. Probably low blood pressure. You should monitor your blood pressure and contact your doctor.
  9. Congrats! It's awesome that you have your daughter for support. What autoimmune issues do u have? I have RA. I'm 2 1/2 weeks out, and everything has been great. [emoji3]

MxKitty- I am so thrilled for you and your wife! What a cutie! Congrats! I have only tried egg and tuna salad. The egg salad doesn't sit too well, but the tuna was awesome. I use the unflavored Isupure powder as well. Thanks for the tip regarding how to mix the powder without clumps. I am going to see my doctor in an hour or so to get my staples removed. Can't wait to get them out!
  11. Thanks for all the feedback. I am taking a ton of vitamins. It feels like I get more vitamins in me than anything else! The pill thing is daunting, especially since I am taking meds for RA, Fibromyalgia, and high blood pressure. I sure do hope this time goes by quickly because I totally agree that you need the healthy carbs that fruit and veggies provide. Right now my energy is really low. Thanks again!
  12. Hey, all. I am two weeks out from surgery and was just wondering if any of you have similar instructions. My doctor wants me on a protein only diet until I've lost 75% of what I need to lose. I'm really missing fruit and vegetables (crazy, I know)and am bummed I can't touch them for a while.

Thanks so much for sharing, Positive44. I'm glad to know that others are at the same spot. I've come pretty darn close to your private moment with those potatoe chips! Last weekend I had to sit through my son's pizza birthday party with the pizza and cake right in front of me! My husband actually started getting me a slice of pizza. When he looked up and saw my deathly dagger eyes he felt horrible! Thanks for the encouragement!

Hey guys, It sounds like everyone is doing well. So, today I started puree. Although I am doing well, the last few days I have been mourning the loss of food. I know things will get better, but I'm in mourning nonetheless. I tried egg salad twice today. Was really carefull about taking baby bites and chewing, but could only eat 1 1/2 tbs. for both lunch and dinner. At that point I was nauseous stopped. Anyone else relate? On another note, you're in my thoughts, diet belle. I sure hope things start looking up for you soon. Have a good evening, 2/9 crew!

I totally agree with MxKitty. 12 pounds is awesome! 10,000 steps will have you hurting. It's really interesting how different each doctor is in terms of recommended diet, check ups, etc. I had a phone consultation with a nurse last Tue. (1 week) and will see my doctor on the 25th. I feel like I'm doing really well. Went out in the sunlight today (feared I might go blind, but didn't) to visit my mom. I took my Shake and yogurt with me. I feel like I'm a baby on a feeding schedule! It will be nice when we can eat real food and blend in with the crowd. Oh, one thing: still no BM! I've been taking a stool softener every day. Suggestions? Don't want to die from poo poisoning or anything like that! Lol!
