May 2014, I have a hiatal hernia pushing up through my diaphragm that's rather painful. I have a severe case of GERDS since my surgery that I have been dealing with since I had surgery but the meds are no longer helping at all. I've been waking up vomiting in my sleep plus the burning , bad taste and pain is horrible. The surgeon that performed my first surgery is a real ahole .. Told me the problems I'm having is insignificant and that I didn't have a successful weight loss because I was not do what I was told when I begin having problems shortly after surgery. Not to mention that my sleeve to big in the first place and by me having a history of acid reflux prior to surgery he should've suggested the bypass anyway. I'm just miserable . So after my last visit with my surgeon he told me I should look into a revision which I had already began to do anyway because I want no dealings with him at all. So the next closest surgeon in my network that can perform the surgery is 3 hours away. So I said February because that's when I meet with my new doctor to schedule revision.

What do you do when your health conditions are getting worst no matter what you do the doctors sounds aren't helping and you just don't want to get out of bed anymore... No relief from the GERDS, the diabetes and no weight loss..... At this point I give up I'm tired of trying the meds not helping I'm up to 4 shots of Humalog insulin one shot of victoza 1000mg if Metformin, Reglan 4 times a day, liquid carafate 4 times a day, omerpazole, Promethazine for the nausea and vomiting not to mention my blood pressure meds ugh I really regret having the sleeve and I'm still having all these problems that was suppose to get better and the acid reflux is worst than it was before I had the sleeve......

    Bummed and angry

Hello, everyone it's been about a month since I last posted when I missed my appointment for to meet with my new surgeon to consult about a revision from the sleeve to the bypass. I have a hiatal hernia, a severe case of GERDS which causes me to vomiting a lot and deal with a painful burning sensation. I'm 16 months out from surgery and my weight loss has been an epic fail. My current surgeon said that the issues I'm having INSIGNIFICANT to him and that he recommends that I have the Gastric Bypass. So I have an appointment with a new surgeon that is 4 hours away from where I stay because he's the only surgeon that accepts my insurance outside of my current surgeon. And I have a feeling that I am going to miss this appointment as well and giving my current situation, I'm pretty sure I won't make another attempt to get help. I'm completely discouraged and disgusted and regret my choice to have the gastric sleeve since I'm still obese, my type 2 diabetes is still out of control, my blood pressure is always high. Now I'm worst off than when I started my weight loss journey..... But good luck with your surgery...
  23. I really wish my surgeon had told me about the downside to having type 2 diabetes or acid reflux and how terribly wrong the sleeve is for people like me

    Surgery date is Monday 10/5

Good luck, remember it's your journey to a healthier you.....
