I'm in Daly City and I'm doing mine at Stanford. That's so awesome! I can't wait for my orientation.

Seriously? People are offended by "cunninglinguist"?
I might change my nick to "blowjobssuck."
Lighten up, folks! That's actually why we're here. (Badda boom ... get it?)

Hey everyone! My name is Amy and I had been thinking for quite some time about WLS. After many failed attempts of trying to do it on my own I finally decided to talk to my PCP about it. I met with her on Wednesday and she sent in the referral in no time! Today, Thursday the bariatric clinic called me and sent me a nice stack of questionnaires. I am in the Bay Area and on Medi-cal. Just looking for some friendly support on this journey! (:

@OKCPirate that's one of mine too - cutting my own toenails!
Walking into a clothes shop and not pushing everything to the side so I can get to the biggest sizes straight away (oh and not hearing across the shop, "We don't do large sizes".

Having to request a table instead of a booth at a restaurant. Pretty sure fitting won't be an issue anymore.

No longer having to plan on how to cut my toenails. Used to be a logistical hassle - leg up, breath, suck in gut, bend, gasp for air No more.

Welcome, Amy! You have definitely found the right place for the support you are seeking. I too came here when I was first considering surgery, and now mine is less than two weeks away. I can tell you that the excitement you are feeling now never goes away, and it will help you through the process. Feel free to ask a lot of questions. There are always people around to help you out! Good luck!

So here's my 2 cents, if you're ready to date go for it!! I met someone online the week prior to surgery, then went out on a first "date" during my second week post-op. It was not a traditional first date (dinner, drinks, etc.) of course and he knew that I had had surgery on my stomach and wouldn't be able to go out to eat or drink but wanted to hang out anyway. So we did! I carried my Water bottle and we went for a walk.
I definitely say, go be social!! Go out, go meet people, or get online!!
    Good Luck!
