  1. I was 294 when I started the process and after a 2 week liquid diet I lost 18lbs. My doctor didn't really require me to lose anything.
  2. I'm currently 294 and 5'4". How tall are you?
  3. You're across the country! It would be nice to keep in touch to share our journey!
  4. That's crazy! ☺️ Where are you located? I'm in San Francisco.
  5. I am scheduled for November 24! November needs to come fast! ????
  6. Congrats! I am scheduled for the same day! ????
  7. I got my date yesterday! I am scheduled for November 24th! I'm so excited and a little nervous. I'm in the San Francisco area and having my surgery at Stanford.
  8. Waiting is the hard part! I'm currently waiting and I wish it would be acceptable to call them everyday, haha. ???? But nonetheless, it's still exciting to know our surgeries are right around the corner.
  9. I'm totally in! I live closer to the city. Daly City to be exact. (:
  10. Wishing you the best on your surgery! How exciting! I'm waiting for my insurance approval and can't wait to be where you're at!
  11. Mine is scheduled for September 9th! I can't wait either. It is my last appointment before my surgeon submits everything to my insurance for approval!
  12. I am pre-op and also a college student. I am hoping to return to school within a couple of days of having my surgery. I am taking more than a full course load this semester and I really don't want to miss anything. I've had a couple surgeries around my stomach area and did really well with recovery so I am hoping my gastric bypass isn't any different. Wishing your daughter the best of luck on her journey!

  14. I'm holding on to my 20s! I'm 29 and 30 seems to close for comfort! I'm in San Francisco and should be having gastric bypass within the next month or so.
  15. Oh man! I'm so sorry this happened to you! I hope you get some relief soon! Stay strong.
  16. I'm still pre but I should be having my procedure in September. I wanted to get Premier from Costco while it's on sale but I've heard that your taste changes after surgery. I worry if I like them now, I may not like them after my surgery.
  17. I'm not exactly sure what happens if you don't follow pre-op but from what I've read in these posts, it's probably better that you do. I know that following the pre-op diet can help reduce the fat around your liver and that can help during surgery. I'm sure it's dreadful but try to be positive about it. Two weeks of following the pre-op will totally be worth it in the end. If you have a bump in the road, start over the next day. You can do it!
  18. Mine is 50.5 but I'm pre. I look forward to having a healthy bmi!!
  19. Congratulations on the weight loss! Your experience sounds scary but I'm sure you're glad that you are now taking better care of your health. I have been fortunate to never have an serious effects of my weight. But I am at risk, I can't wait til I'm post op and can look back on my journey. Keep doing what you're doing! ????
  20. I met with my surgeon for the first time last Thursday. I was worried about the same thing! I've had my gallbladder removed and had a colostomy that left a huge scar down the middle of my stomach. My surgeon said that he didn't think this would be a problem. He said he believes he can still do my bypass laparoscopically but he won't truly know until I'm actually having the surgery.
  21. So sorry to hear about your father! A close friend of the families recently had her surgery done in Mexico. She said it was very clean, very modern and she has had no complications or issues. From the posts I have seen here, Mexico seems to be the way to go if you are doing self pay. I wish you the best on your journey!
  22. I had my pysch evaluation done yesterday and it was more of a conversation with occasional questions. No test and I was cleared. Maybe you're insurance requires all of this? It seems like such a pain, sorry! But hopefully you get cleared! (:
  23. That is awesome! I go for my first appointment next Thursday. I can't wait to be where you are in the approved status!
  24. @@mimic86 That is great news! I am going to my first appointment on August 13th. They say its a 4 hour appointment in which I meet the surgeon, nutritionist and psychologist. I'm excited but nervous! Wishing you the best on your upcoming surgery!
