I CHEATED DAY 3 PRE OP

I'm on day 3 of my 14 day pre op diet. Surgery is on the 25th of August. I just had a medium meat lovers pizza all to myself. Should I tell my surgeon? I'm scared he will cancel the operation because I broke my pre op diet :( I was going good till now.

No need to tell him, its early you have time to get back on track, lose 10 lbs in the remaining 11 days everyone wins. Len

Keep it moving! Don't do it again and you will be fine, it happens.

What happens if people just choose not to follow the pre-op diet?

I'm not exactly sure what happens if you don't follow pre-op but from what I've read in these posts, it's probably better that you do. I know that following the pre-op diet can help reduce the fat around your liver and that can help during surgery. I'm sure it's dreadful but try to be positive about it. Two weeks of following the pre-op will totally be worth it in the end. If you have a bump in the road, start over the next day. You can do it!
