  1. This stuff is nasty! Horrible! What do you guys mix it in?
  2. I think I figured out the reason for the stall and knowing this makes me feel better. During the liquid diet and the weeks following surgery, there is a huge shift of eating "normally" or even overeating to barely eating. Of course there's going to be a huge weight drop in the beginning. You lose all the Fluid from hospitalization, you're eating next to nothing, and the most important factor, you're losing muscle mass because you're recovering from surgery and not moving a lot. About 3 weeks following surgery you begin to gain that muscle back. You're able to eat more Protein,, and most importantly, you're much more active. This explains why the weight doesn't melt off, while many report that they are still losing inches. You're trading fat-weight for muscle-weight, which is actually heavier. In time you're muscle mass will plateau and more fat will burn off, thus ending the stall. The next stall may occur as your fitness is taken to the next level and more muscle is gained while fat is being lost. It's best to concentrate on inches lost, and how you feel and look...weighing once a week or if you can stand it, every two weeks might be better. We all need to remember this and not get discouraged.
  3. Yep! And try measuring yourself! I bet you'll see a difference!
  4. I had my first meal in a restaurant today - it was a work meeting. I had a scrambled egg with a side of goat cheese. I only ate half of it and was full! Bonus: my check was only $3.00! What did you eat at a restaurant first? I would recommend if you're going out to pull up the menu online first so you know what to get when you get there.
  5. Does anyone know how long it takes for your stomach swelling to go down? I'm eating almost all my protein but I can only eat a few bites and I'm full! I'll be 2 weeks post- op tomorrow.
  6. I can return it to GNC so I'm not worried, but I was hoping it would taste better.
  7. I popped a couple Bariatric Advantage Essential Multi's this morning after my Breakfast of plain Greek yogurt. First time taking them post-op. It wasn't a minute before the nausea started, then I was running to the toilet. I "heaved" for a few minutes but nothing came up, which I thought was weird. I think I'm okay now. Wtf? If there's one thing in the world I hate it's nausea and especially vomiting. I doubt I'll have the courage to try that Vitamin again. But I don't have any others...

Why Am I Dropping Weight So Slowly?

Sometimes low sugar and low fat foods up the carbs to compensate. Also it's normal to hit a stall in WL. Keep up with exercise, and avoid liquids 30 mins before and after food. Liquid causes the food to pass through quicker. Try eating pure protein foods like eggs too.
  9. I say nausea....I mean that constant unsettled gurgling thing. I'm not sick like throwing up but I feel a little "ugh" all day. I'm 7 days post-op.
  10. Mine came to an abrupt halt this week after my doctor gave me Zofran. I feel great now! Hopefully I won't have to keep taking the zofran very long. Wait...8 WEEKS and you're still feeling bad?
  11. This is why anesthesiologists make so much money. They administer the drugs to keep you sedated while keeping a close eye on your vitals. You're in good hands, believe me...these guys hate getting sued! And when they give you the Versed you won't care about anything

How long until I feel well again?

  13. I've heard a lot of people say they're taking Flinstones! Are they okay for Bariatric patients? My NUT made it sound like there were very few vitamins that met the needs of the bari patient...
  14. I'd send it but I'm in Kansas and the cost to ship heavy bottles would be kinda bad. ????

    July sleevers?

Yes in the beginning you're going to feel EVERYTHING as it travels down to your stomach and gets settled. For me it was like a bad ache that went away after a few seconds, almost like a contraction!
  16. Is this normal? I'm 5 days post-op and it started last night. When I take a deep breath and fill my lungs there is a sharp pain beneath my right breast. I'm almost sure it's normal just want to check with other people. Is it gas or am I about to die from a pulmonary embolism? Btw ate my first solid food and lost 14 lbs. woot
  17. My NUT said no gummies....

    Shoulder pain

Gas! Thought I was going to die from it. Walk it off, take pain meds, and my personal trick....lie in a shallow, hot bath of Epsom salt and baking soda.
  23. Shit. I am going to have no boobs. Figures.
