    Changing Tastes

My taste buds have completely changed and most foods I find taste okay especially those I loved before.
  2. So, let me say I am losing weight, working out and feeling more fit. No one told me however that I wouldn't enjoy food anymore! I haven't had any food I thought was just delicious since surgery. It's like my taste isn't right. I am 12 weeks out tomorrow. I've had food that taste good but not great. That's cooked, restaurant... It's a bit depressing since I can only eat small quantities. I want that to be delicious. It's becoming a chore to eat... So for something that I will admit I used to make me feel better to now be something I don't enjoy is kinda sad. Well, I'm happy with my body transformation so I guess that's the price to pay.
  3. I hope it does, thanks for sharing ????????
  4. So it's not just me... I don't remember hearing about this part. ????
  5. I'm not missing quantity of food I miss quality. Actually, I never ate a lot of food, I just ate junk (chips, soda, candy) The act of enjoying eating... However, I did enjoy food that is considered healthy like tuna and chicken etc but not anymore. That's not something I think should be forfeited. The idea is that why can't you be healthy and enjoy what you eat at the same time? but I have to deal with this new reality. I am looking forward to the day I can enjoy eating something that taste divine. But as of now my taste buds have not experienced anything really good. I'm glad you enjoy food differently now, hopefully that is my confession in weeks to come.
  6. Hey, I hope so! Thanks for the encouragement
  7. Thanks for your perspective and experience. I look forward to enjoying food again and trying new foods
  8. I understand. I had a bite of prime rib from this really nice restaurant and I was like ummm not really interested. It's a huge adjustment.

  10. I will be 6 weeks in 2 days. I am FINALLY on regular foods and about 30 pounds down. Their hasn't been any food I can't tolerate that I've tried however, I haven't tried anything I'm not suppose to eat.
  11. Thanks. It feels good to start seeing results Thank you! Your sweet
  12. Thanks for the encouragement
  13. Slow and Steady Results... It's hard when it doesn't drop faster but this gives me time to tone as I lose Thanks You are having fantastic results!! Thanks for sharing!! ❤️
  14. Keeping my fingers crossed!
  15. I'm so irritated every evening when my family eats dinner. I room with my brother, his wife and daughter. Tonight it's the smell of fried fish. I'm 4 weeks out. I know they can eat whatever they want but it really bugs me... I hate that finding something tasty to eat has been such a chore. I'm so over this stage! I'm totally venting but I also don't like having the attention or like what I eat is on display.. For instance was out with friends this week and I ordered omelet at restaurant and they thought it was big deal that I had 3 bites and felt full. It gets old explaining your new eating habits.
  16. I'm going hold on to your words and in 9 months look you up and give you and update ????
  17. Thanks for the suggestions I walk 2 miles a day about 5 times a week. I just can't seem to think I would be happy with grilled meat all the time... You have made great progress, way to go!
  18. Yeah. It's an adjustment. Every event revolves around food
  19. Okay any past the purée stage. Will I be able to eat Pizza Again? I'm really wanting a bite as soon as I can return to regular foods. I'm only 14 days post op but I want to look forward to a slice.
  20. Insurance approved, pre op completed, 12 days to surgery date. Hello, joined yesterday. My name is Sharee. I'm on my 7th day of liver shrink. Protein shake for breakfast, lunch and 3oz meat, veggie for dinner with small fruit snacks as in between meals. What the doctor ordered. I'm so hungry and it's weird because I went missing meals a good portion of my life. Has anyone else struggled during this time? It's like 12 days can't get her fast enough. I'm irritable and moody and at times weak but I refuse to not follow the diet. I want my liver to be as small as it needs to have no problems during surgery... Impatiently waiting...
  21. Well, its 4 days post op and I have to admit I had a pretty good experience with surgery. Not much pain other than gas discomfort and I went kinda crazy the second day in the hospital and couldn't get comfortable but on today I had a sort of emotional break down. 22. You are exceptionally sweet! I pray your surgery is a success. Can I tell you the other day I was like if I can eat mashed potatoes, why can't I just get some fries and mash them up. Lol Obviously ignoring the fact they are fried. Needless to say I had to enjoy it in my mind because I am seriously afraid of dumping. The thought makes me feel ill. I hate feeling nauseated and sick. But thank you for your reply it made me smile during a rough day!! ☺️
