@@Knitchic You're very welcome! Thank you for the inspiration. I now have chocolate and butterscotch pudding in a couple of the molds and the others are filled with different flavors of Oikos Triple Zero Greek Yogurt. I'm loving having such a variety of high Protein Snacks that I can sink my teeth into that last quite a long time

I was advised to use a heating pad if it helped.
I've basically been using a body pillow over my abdomen that provides heat and slight pressure. Really seems to help.

Wow that was kinda rude. Depending on your doctors instructions At 7 Weeks you will be eating a large variety of foods. You won't be on fresh veggies probably. But on a cruise you should have no problem at all getting your Protein. Lots to choose from on the smorgasbords! Make sure and take your supplements with you and even pack some pre-mixed Protein shakes. I love cruises! You will have so much fun.
And don't worry about posting in the wrong thread. For some reason there are people that get weirdly territorial and snappy but for the most part, lots of people are happy to help!!

You're not going to believe this, but 70 pounds. Before that, people would look at me like something was different, but would never say anything. It seems at 70 pounds EVERYBODY noticed!
It's really crazy to me it took that much weight for people to notice.

It took about 60 lbs before people started noticing for me, but I started out at a higher weight than you. So, my guess is that you will start hearing from people when you get below 200 lbs.
Also, when you have lost some but not a huge amount, many people will be afraid to comment in case they are wrong, or they are just being too personal. And actually, it is kind of rude to comment on someone else's body for any reason. So, just tell yourself that you work with a lot of polite people who have good manners
In my experience, once you start wearing clothes that fit better, more people will notice. Loose clothes do not make you look smaller, they actually make you look bigger than you are.

@@Knitchic I researched these ProYo frozen yogurt treats and you're right, while they are high in Protein, they are very high in sugar. You inspired me to come up with a frozen treat which was high in Protein but low in sugar and still tasted good, so here goes:
    Premier Protein pudding Pops

2 cups Premier chocolate protein shakes
1 small pkg Jello sugar-free/fat-free instant pudding (dry mix)

Prepare pudding according to package directions replacing milk with chocolate Premier Protein shake. I prefer to use my NutriBullet but if using shaker, shake for 3 minutes or until thickened slightly. Pour into Jello pudding pop molds or any popsicle molds. Jello molds hold 1/3 cup each and are what the Nutrition info is based upon. Place in the freezer to set (approx. 2-3 hours). You can use any flavor pudding. I also made vanilla.
    Nutrition (Protein Pudding Pops)
    Serving size: 2 pops (5 1/3 oz.)
    Calories 124
    Fat 1g
    Carbs 13g
    Fiber 3g
    Sugars 0g
    Protein 16g
    Nutrition (ProYo)
    Serving size: 4 oz. tube
    Calories 140
    Fat 2g
    Carbs 16g
    Fiber 3g
    Sugars 13g
    Protein 20g
You can certainly have just one pop but I listed the nutrition info as 2 for a better comparison to the ProYo. Next I will try breaking up either a Quest Cookies and cream or brownie Protein Bar, toasting it in the oven and then pulsing it in my mini food processor. I think adding in a few of the crunchy crumbs would make for an interesting texture to the bar. I'll let you know how that turns out

Knitchic reacted to Elode in My holy grail product for DRY skin!
I'm adding this to the topic of WL because since I've lost weight my skin has become even MORE dry on my face, I didn't even think that was possible. I've tried many products from luxury skin creams like "LA MER" ($170 wasted, I was desperate) to Walmart brands. I've tried face peels, microdermabrasion treatments, face masks ect...I have dry flaky skin around my nose, chin, and eyebrows. It's ridiculous! I've been doing research and found these products, both over the counter and both at Walmart. I figured with all the great reviews why not. I've spent a small fortune already. I am so incredibly thankful that I did because I have FINALLY found a product that works!! I'm still amazed! My skin has been flake free for a full month! I have never had a product work so successfully on my skin. Now that winter and cooler weather is upon us I figured I'd share with others who may be a flaky skin sufferer. Here's to flawless winter skin!

The surgery you got is not a therapist. It will not stop your food addiction. You can definitely sabotage it. It was meant as a tool to help you lose weight, but it still requires hard work on our part. We have to change our pattern of eating. I was taught that 1/2 of the meal should be Protein, 1/4 fruits/vegetables, and if you can still eat, the final 1/4 should be whole-grain or complex carbs. Although having 1 (one) slice of pizza every once in a while won't kill you, making a habit of having that or other such foods (such as hamburgers) will stop or reverse your weight loss.
Grazing (eating small amounts throughout the day) will also sabotage your weight loss. Drinking high-calorie beverages will also sabotage your weight loss. Both of these habits get around your surgical restrictions.
For your food addiction, you should definitely see a therapist. Group therapy might work as well.
Your weight loss is up to you, not the surgery. It was not a magic bullet to lose weight.

If you can eat two slices of pizza......you could also probably eat 4 cream filled doughnuts......or 2 candy bars......or a heap of ice cream......
We all have the opportunity to sabotage our weight loss results no matter what type of surgery we elect to have or not have.

First, it's highly unlikely that air or carbonation will cause your sleeve to stretch. The fundus, which is the stretchy part of the stomach, is removed in this surgery, so the amount of stretch that people can get is really negligible. The fallacy of the stomach stretching comes from talking about gastric bypass, where there is still fundus left as part of the pouch, and it can stretch fairly easily.
What excess air and carbonation CAN do is result in significant discomfort, especially if your stomach is still healing.
Using a straw can be a problem if you tend to gulp with it. However, if you use the straw to pull a small amount of liquid into your mouth before you swallow (not straight into a gulp down your throat) there's really very little difference between that and sipping from a cup.
Time to relax and stop squawking at people, folks. It's good to be concerned for each other, but this is an insignificant blip on the "not following doctors orders" radar.

2 months out and still have to remind myself on occasion to sip and not chug. I usually experience the chugging issue hen it's hot or I've been working out and nothing sounds better than cold ice Water. I also use a straw, so this helps me to sip all day. No issues with straw use.

It took me all of about one major drink of Water to remember to sip. I had major swallowing issues the first few weeks until I started using a straw. I felt like I was swallowing rocks, so the sooner I learned to take tiny sips, the less painful the process was.

Don't worry we all go through that stall. And about eating the solids just be gentle on starting them. Because your mind goes nuts as in oh this is good . Lol . You eat right and stay on your program you will lose. I am 8 weeks out and I still have energy issues . But I am still losing weight. Keep up the good work . Remember stalls are normal even if your doing everything right. This will pass

Guys, it's okay. How fast you lose just all depends on some things that are, quite frankly, out of our control. Age, gender, starting weight and BMI. I was right there with you. I think I had lost 19 pounds by 6 weeks. 50 some at 6 months.
Did I look at other's results and get completely frustrated? YOU BET! But then I finally decided not to waste precious energy on worrying about how much weight I'm losing compared to others. It's not a race to be won. It's a lifestyle change that won't end just because we get to our goal weight. What's the hurry? Enjoy the journey and your new life!
Now here I am, 10.5 months out, and am 10 pounds to my goal weight. Do I feel like a failure because of my perceived "slow weight loss?" ABSOLUTELY NOT. Because ultimately it's about getting there, not how long it took.
Patience, persistence, and resilience. Stick to your plan, find some exercise you love to do, and you'll be there before you know it

The thing I suggest is find a cup about 1/4 of a cup and fill it with what you want to eat. and it should take you about 20 minutes or so to eat that and use a baby spoon for your bites. wait 5 minutes after the first bite and 10 minutes after the second bite and you will start feeling the full feeling. It does matter what you put in the cup also lol. you can eat in about 3 hrs later again and have sugar free popsicles in between. helps curb the appetite. That is all I have for ya good luck you are doing great

I know for certain that I'll show up Tuesday morning ready to get 'r done. I just hope my surgeon is on his A-Game 'cause he's gonna see a damn mess when he gets in there and starts working.
You'd probably be laughing yourself silly if you could see how I approached my closet organizing. I've gone through there and simply got tired of sorting this and that. I just started throwing stuff in goodwill bags and have carved out plenty of space for new threads.
Tossing that work shirt last night as I walked out of the plant was a power move that I'm still rolling with today.
I freaking love it. All these big clothes are now GONE.
And now I pray, "Lord........Lord please let me loose the weight quickly.....because if I don't ......well, Sir,.......you see.....I have nothing to wear because I gave it all away. Lord, I do very much want to be nekkid a lot......just not in public.".

    Thank you.
