  1. @@chasingchloee how was your first day on pre op? I am on day 4 now and when everyone says it does get better I think they're right. Days 2 and 3 were horrible. I think my body was screaming for sugar haha. Keep us posted on your progress. I am so happy for you and your journey.
  2. I had a few food funerals. Fruity pebbles cereal, pop tarts and my mother-in-laws amazing lasagna. The night before my two weeks we went out for an amazing steak dinner. I ate every bite and finished my desert. I'm on day 4 of the pre op diet and all in all glad I did. Yesterday was ROUGH today I am doing better. My thought was enjoy it while you can.
  3. Congrats on the countdown! The pre op does get a little easier. The chocolate unjury Protein drinks are AMAZING! I hope I still lake them post op. Oh and chicken flavored unjury is great mixed with broth. Just like chicken noodle Soup minus the noodles. I find that around 8 or 9 at night are hardest for me. The munchies kick in and UGH I want chips lol.
  4. So glad to hear you say it gets better. I am on day 3 1/2 and had one of the worst headaches of my life yesterday. Today is a new day and one day closer to surgery!
  5. @@395Ron it went great! He gave me a run down of everything from the time I walk in the hospital the morning of surgery. He took the time to answer my list of questions (yes I really did take a list because I was afraid I would forget something haha). Now I am excited and ready for the 22nd to get here.
  6. @@toasty I asked the same question to my surgeon yesterday and he said the same thing. I also asked if walking really does help or just takes you mind off the pain. He said while it does take your mind off the pain it helps "move the gas around so it can work its way out". I had already bought the GasX strips so I think I will take them with me just to be safe. If nothing else maybe it's a mental thing ????.
  7. Very good post! For those of us that "love" food we worry that we will be lost without it or that we are losing our best friend. I'm so happy for you as the count down begins.
  8. Thank you all so much! I will definitely drink more today. It's been in the mid 90's here for the last 3 or 4 days so that probably hasn't helped. I was a major carb junk PLUS I went bonks eating on my last few days prior to the liquid diet....probably not a good idea looking back. I just woke up in the middle of the night and I do feel quite a bit better. It's a new day right?!? Like everyone said it will be worth it! Thanks everyone!
  9. Day 2 1/2 of the pre op liquid diet and I have a headache from &$@$. Was anyone allowed Tylenol during pre op? I can't find anything about it in my paperwork.
  10. Woohoo!!!!!! I'm so happy for you. Please keep us all posted!
  11. This afternoon is my last appointment with the surgeon prior to surgery on the 22nd. What questions should I ask? I started a list but now that this seems more "real" my head is spinning.
  12. I have read posts from others about getting nervous. I didn't understand until this afternoon. As I sat drinking my unjury chicken broth for lunch it hit me that I am really in pre op now. Holy cow let the fun begin!
  13. Images added to a gallery album owned by Knitchic in Member Photo Gallery
Before, a weight loss surgery photo album by Knitchic on BariatricPal. 4 photos in Member Photo Gallery.
  14. I'm the 22nd also. I will be having RNY. Which surgery are you having?
  15. Wow you look great. Thank you for sharing. It's really helpful.
  16. Has anyone has an issue with their iron prior to RNY and if so how has having the bypass impacted your iron levels?
  17. Wonderful! I am so happy for her to start this amazing journey.
  18. I have no choice other then RNY due to my health issues but my doctor has said it is more invasive and harder on your body with a longer recovery time over the sleeve. With that being said you know your pain tolerance and what you can handle.
  19. Could anyone give me an update as to their personal turn around time for approval with anthem these days? I have a friend who has been pre approved and will have her last of the 12 month doctors appointments for supervised weight loss on September 21st and needs surgery as early as possible in October. Thanks for any input!
  20. We are a day apart on both our surgery date and our liquid diet. I'm sure I won't feel the same on the second or third day of the preop diet but I can't wait to get started... I guess because that means just two weeks to the start of my new life!
  21. Great idea taking the picture. I am cleaning out my pantry of anything I can't have and put in only things I can have. I just took a picture and sent it to a friend. Let's just say it looks depressing haha. Hopefully I will get some ideas from your stash.
