    De-banded 4 days Ago

Wow! De-banded twice! That is really traumatic. How are you doing? How is your weightloss? I gained some right away (mostly fluids since I was soo dehydrated) but have maintained my current weight for about a month or so now. How are you finding being post band? Any advice?? Well, my heart goes out to you. I am so sorry to hear about your band issues.

    De-banded 4 days Ago

I heard you can feel the impression from the band sometimes after they take it off. I didn't at all. My stomach was back to normal right away almost. Now I really have to watch what I am eating and have upped my exercise. Like I said I started putting weight on right away. My Dr kind of wants me to gain weight so if I want another procedure it would be covered. I am too close to goal right now that it would never be covered. Anyways please keep me posted on how you are both doing. If you want to chat or email privately just send me a message and I would be happy too. Take care

    De-banded 4 days Ago

Hi there! I am in the same boat as you. My band also flipped and was removed in emergency surgery when I went into shock about a month and a half ago. It was so scary and I felt so bad. I could not swallow anything, not even my own saliva. Crazy! I did put on some weight though, about 10 pounds right after surgery. I think that this was mostly Water since I was so dehydrated. So far I am maintaining the weight I am at now. I do miss my band and might get rebanded. Are you planning on getting rebanded? I just do not know if I could go through all the complications again if it happened. It took alot out of my family and friends. How are you feeling now? Is there anything I can help you with. At least we were de banded around the same time! Keep in touch!

    Dating after Lapband

You guys are all so awesome!! Thanks for the great advice. It is nice to know that I am not alone in this awkward feeling. I mean, I like him, and am dating, but not so serious that I want him to know really personal things about my life. Thanks so much for the comments back. Tanya

Hi there... Dr.Teng is great. Fills are fine. I hate needles and he still has done mine. He is really quick and it does not hurt at all. He is the best! Tanya

    Dating after Lapband

Hi Everyone!! Ok, so I have been dating a lot lately and have a question for you all. I have met someone I really like and am shy of my lap band scars on my stomach. He does not know I had the surgery and I am not sure if I want to share that with him yet. What do you do? Has anyone else has this issue? What do you say when he sees your scars? Any guidance would be so helpful. Tanya
  11. I am so glad that I am also not alone in feeling this way. I was banded on Dec 28th and feel just like aprilbene...Like they cut me and stitched me back up. I know I could eat a lot more if I do not watch myself. I have even caught myself eating too much and since I do not even feel restricted I keep thinking something is wrong with my band. Its good to know that this is normal and restriction is on its way. Hope you all the best. Hugs

    Isopure and upset stomach... related?

Hi There, You could also make your own Protein shakes. For example if you use the Carnatation Instant Breakfast (5 grams of protein in it) and add additional Protein powder (18-25 grams per spoonful)to it and blend it with some milk or soy milk it is so good. (Almost 30 grams!!) Hope this helps. Hugs!!

    Caffeine?

Hi Everyone!! The reason why they want you to avoid caffeine is due to its dehydrating potenial. During the first month of so post op you are already at high risk of dehydration. For example, for every 8 oz glass of a caffeinated beverage you would have to compensate with 16 oz to adequatley rehydrate your body. If the body is already dehydrated you could put your body at risk. Also, to be the most metabolically active you need to be hydrated. There is no quicker way to stop loosing weight then to become dehydrated. Soooo, that is the risk. Hope this helps. Hugs!!
