How did everything go for you?

Hello All! I signed up for the mandatory, yet free class through Southern Surgical in Greenville, NC to go through the process to get the VSG. What I am wondering is if anyone has been in my situation BMI and insurance wise, and if you can tell me what to expect of this process? I have a few comorbidities, but it wasn't enough to be prescribed medication for it (minus BC for severely missing periods). I have PCOS, pre-diabetic with an A1C of 5.7 in January. There is a family history on my mother's side of strokes and heart failure. Thank you for your time!

Queencity- I haven't spoken to the doctor yet, but it takes an average of 3-4, sometimes 5 hours. It shouldn't take longer than that. I am planning on the vertical sleeve for now. NewHealthy- I am not sure how mine would be covered and your won't, but maybe it's an employer thing? My hubby works for our county's schools. I would pester and pester that office.

I am covered under my husband's BCBSoNC state health plan and spoke to a rep for the insurance company. She said that for us, under the 70/30 traditional plan, there's a chunk out of pocket and that there shouldn't be many problems as long as I have the surgery done at a Blue Distinction Center+, which for me means New Hanover Regional.
