  1. I used to be completely ignored when I was out in public, but now that I'm 125 lbs down, random people will start up conversions in checkout lines or at the gym. Men actually smile at me and hold the doors open. It's kind of weird! My friends and family all tell me I look great but none of them treat me differently.

  2. I've been shopping at thrift stores. I buy a few things that can be mixed and matched so that I'm not buying very much in each size. I've been giving all my too big clothes to a friend that had surgery a couple weeks ago or you can try selling the clothes you no longer need.

  3. My surgery was about 2 months after my first appointment with my surgeon. I had to go see a dietician, an exercise therapist and have a psych eval. I made my appointments and then asked to be contacted if they had cancellations. 2 of my appointments got bumped up. My insurance also called for 6 months of working with my doctor on weight loss but my doctor wrote my insurance company a letter recommending the surgery. I also called and personally spoke with the woman at my insurance company that did the approvals. She called me herself a few days after my paperwork had been submitted to her and told me I had been approved. I did everything I could to move it along faster.

  4. I have had Hair loss since about 3 months and I'm at 7 months now. I've been coloring my hair every 6 weeks since the beginning and haven't noticed any change when I color it. Losing my hair makes me feel bad enough about my hair, ugly roots would just make it worse so I've chosen to keep coloring it. There hasn't been any damage to my hair, it's just shedding and I think that is just from the surgery. I actually just chopped it off pretty short and it's much better!
