What can you eat dip with?

You can make a zucchini chip. Slice them really thin and bake in the oven. Check Pinterest for recipes.
  7. I found several recipes on Pinterest. Just search for sugar free low carb pumpkin pie and you'll get some good looking results. I haven't tried them yet but they look good.

    Upcoming surgery in November

I have 4 kids and they love all things about the holidays, not just the food. Try focusing on activities instead of the tons of treats. Maybe make a holiday craft instead of cookies. I don't want to totally deprive my children of treats, but I try to stay away from things that I really like. Gingerbread houses are a good option because you can get all that gross candy and the kids don't care. I actually rarely crave sugar after my surgery, so you might find that the old temptations aren't really much of a temptation anymore. Good luck!

    Nursing mamas?

I was nursing when I had RNY in May. My surgeon's paperwork said that I would need to stop breastfeeding before my surgery, but when I talked to him and his nurse, they both said that I could keep nursing. After surgery, I had to pump and dump for 24 hours to get the meds out of my body but then I was able to breastfeed again. My husband even brought my baby to the hospital and I fed her there. I haven't had any problems with my milk supply. It may have gone down a little, but I've always supplemented with formula anyway, so it wasn't noticeable. It's been 4 months now and hasn't been an issue. Good luck!
  12. I had a lot of nausea and stomach pains around 2 or 3 weeks and was vomiting. My surgeon gave me a prescription for some meds that calmed my stomach acids and I was able to eat and drink just fine. Sometimes it takes awhile for your stomach to adjust.
  13. I just wear a tankini and throw on some mens swimming trunks.

    Cooking for a family

I have 4 kids and a husband that I cook for. I was worried about this too before my surgery. Right after surgery when you're in the liquid stages and the soft pureed foods, I didn't really eat anything my family ate. Once I was able to eat regular foods, I just made the decision that even though none of them need to lose weight, they all need to be healthy. I try to cook mostly healthy meals for them and I make sure there is some part of the meal that I can eat. If I make pasta, I make sure there is a vegetable or salad and protein with it. Then, I can eat the protein and veggies and just not eat the pasta. They have also been introduced to spaghetti squash instead of noodles. I'll make a beef stew and just won't eat the potatoes or I'll make it with sweet potatoes. They haven't complained and they are getting much healthier meals than they got before my surgery.
  15. I just bought a black pencil skirt that is 3 sizes too small! I've always wanted to be able to wear a pencil skirt. I'm almost 3 months out so it should be able to fit me relatively soon!
  16. I am 11 weeks out. Had surgery May 20th. I'm starting to feel like myself again. The process has gone pretty well for me too. Shortly after surgery, I went thru a phase where I couldn't eat or drink anything without major stomach pains and nausea. My doc prescribed some meds to calm the acid in my stomach and I haven't had any problems since. I worry about stretching out my pouch too. The last thing I want is to waste this opportunity or gain the weight back! I just try to follow the rules and hope for the best. I'm finally starting to get my energy back so I need to really start exercising more.

    Tired All The Time!

I'm 11 weeks out and it's just been within the last 2 weeks that I'm starting to feel a bit more energetic. Before I was completely exhausted all the time. I'm finding that now I can actually get thru the day without a nap and I can take care of my kids and actually get done what I need to. It's nice to actually feel like myself again. I've talked to other people too and several have said that it took about 3 months before their energy levels were back up.
