@Elode...oh I see. Thanks for the info. I have changed my eating habits and exercise more. I've actually lost 21lbs since this process began. But haven't been working on eating slower, drinking, all that stuff. Guess we will see. I have about 3 months left and I will be changed for the better! You are one of the first people that I saw postings from when I first joined this group. So I tend to watch and see what your comments are to other people and learn what I can from you all. Thanks again!

@Elode...thanks for the pancake recipe. I haven't been sleeved yet but I'm making a recipe book for myself afterwards. They look so yummy! Did I read somewhere in this thread that you didn't change your habits until after the surgery? If so how did that work for you? I'm thinking of doing this. It would probably be the best choice for me.

I have my EGD Friday the 14th. Surgery will be sometime in December.
-
Just a quick response to this....my surgical team requires ALL patients to have an EGD (endoscopy) test before surgery. Guess all programs are different.

@neequa55... I'm south jersey.
-
I'm in New Jersey also!
-
Thanks for sharing this! Really makes me think about the whole process. It's not just a physical process but also a mental one.
-
I have my EGD on 15th of August and won't have surgery until December. Guess all doctors are different.
-
I will also be a December sleever! Good to see someone that is in my time frame!

I have my pulmonary appointment next month but I am being told that it usually takes more than one appointment to get cleared. Anyone else have more than one? These copays are ridiculous!
-
Ok. Thanks for the info!

@@Miz.Phenom I was nervous too about the psychological exam but it was a breeze. Just like I told my psychologist " Are any of us really normal? Hahaha! I have my EGD next month! Here we go! We are doing this!
-
Same here. I spent a month and a half stressing over this psychologist appointment all to be 15 minutes in the office! It was a nice one on one with just general conversation. You will be ok. They want you to succeed! Just take a deep breath and go for it!

Congratulations!

My hospital program charged a $100.00 fee (not covered by insurance) to join the program. plus I had to pay $60.00 for my nutrition classes.

@@Tazi I am also just beginning this journey. I have 5 months of nutrition classes left and cardiologist and pulmonary drs to see. Plus EDG test next month. It's a 6 month journey but it will be a sweet ending. I'm from south jersey. Welcome aboard!

@@scamp662 like you I seem to be a little older than some here (46) but age is just a number right? I am nervous also about my EGD test. I have been put under before but just a little apprehensive. Can't wait for it to be done!

All surgeons and programs are different. I am 100% insurance paid. I have BCBSDE. So far I have just had to pay my copay which is $40 for specialist. And my hospital charges $100.00 fee for the program plus $60.00 for my nutrition classes. I still have to see cardiologist and pulmonary drs. Plus I already had a psychologist exam. It seems like your insurance requires a lot less than mine. Jumping through hoops but it goes fast so I hear. Good luck!
-
I know the feeling. I still have 5 nutrition classes to go. Plus pulmonary and cardiologist. Seems like a long process but I just keep thinking about the skinny me! It helps!
-
Congratulations! I too am a newbie to this journey. Working on completing my nutrition classes for insurance approval. Hope all goes well with you. Welcome to the club!
