  1. That is great Heather! Looks like you are well on your way girl! Way to Go!
  2. Look under the foods section on here or you can look on georgia girls profile and click on view recent posts and it should show up there. I got my protien stuff at walmart. Its in a gigantc container called body fortress whey protein, i got the chocolate kind and its low cal, low sugar and carbs and tastes pretty good. I used two scoops of it this mornign in my shake and that gave me 46G carbs. I usually mix it with FF skim milk because I didnt like it very much just mixed with water. I am looking for a good unflavored protein powder to mix in with my mashed potatoes and other mushy foods though- if i come along one, Ill let ya know!
  3. If you are self pay, at least with DR. B' it can be as little as two weeks (just long enough to go on the pre-op sugarbusters diet)..Thats exactly how mine was. I went in, saw him, and two weeks later, banded baby! It is unreal the amount of hoops insurance makes ppl jump through sometimes. All depends on your provider and plan. Mine had a total WLS exclusion.
  4. That is Awesome BambooBabe! 15 lbs IS GREAT! I'm on mushy foods too, and let me tell you I had mashed potatoes yesterday and it was heaven, lol. Georgia girl put a great cheesy tuna recipe up and I'm going to add a little more sour cream and cheese to make it easier to go down. I am having a really tough time getting my protein in, so this morning I am drinking a protien shake with double scoup of whey so 46 g of protein and then for lunch gonna try that tuna recipe for some more!
  5. It doesn't look so much like a rash anymore, more like a big humongous bruise. Its more purple now than red. But it isnt hot anymore so I am glad they gave me the antibiotics just to be safe.
  6. LOL, you know, it hasn't been until today that I even thought about it. I sent you that email the other day just wanting another pair of eyes to tell me what they thought and then today it dawned on me, dang I sent her a pic of my boobs! LOL.
  7. I noticed today that I did that. I started thinking maybe I am gulping in air before I drink AND I DO! Today I have tried exhaling and then drinking and drinking things MUCH SLOWER and it has greatly helped!! Who knew, man, who knew?!
  8. Hey Terri! I'm glad you found us!! I agree, I think every person could get valuable support and insight from the forum. I don't think we have an official name really. We'll let georgia girl decide since she started the group. I'll send you a pic of my spot tomorrow. I swear I think more ppl have seen my girls in the last week than in my lifetime, lol.
  9. Sounds yum- I'm turning it into a mushie by blending it!
  10. Cool! That really would be great!
  11. I am a week post op and the thought of that happening mortifies me. I am SO sorry you have had to go through this. I would think just by him offering to do another MORE expensive surgery for free says something is fishy. Or either he is just the nicest dang dr. on earth. I would definately have a legal representative when we next spoke. Again, so sorry for all you've went through.
  12. I was emailing Terri today and told her about our meeting, she wanted to know when it was so maybe she will attend! She's such a nice lady. She really has put me to ease about my spot.
  13. Yes! Very weird! I'd give my right arm to burp or poot (lol) right about now!
  14. Google sugar busters. It will give you the diet plan and food list. I had to go on it pre-op and it isnt bad at all! In fact when I get to solid foods again, I probably will stick mostly to it!
  15. I was a smoker pre-op. I quit 2 weeks pre-op. I was self pay at $17,400. I got lapband to prolong my life. I can't see it being a waste to only die young of cancer or other smoking related morbidities. I say that now at a week post op. God help me to continue to believe in it!
  16. Well I'm back at work. The gas-x didn't really do anything for me. I mostly got some of the gas to pass by moving around. And at work, I just walk outside or go to my car for a second, lol. But I'm a week out, I wouldve thought the gas would be gone by now. So now I'm wondering if this is how it feels to be banded.
  17. I am just a week post op. Everytime I drink/eat something I feel incredibly bloated and gassy (in my mind) Could this still be from the post op gas or is this what it feels like to be full with the band? I feel really burpish but cant burp. Am I drinking too fast? I'm wondering will this pass or is this what I am going to feel like forever?
  18. Ok Saw Dr. B- He doesn't really know WHAT it is- he says that he doesnt think it is an infection since I'm not running a temp- but that we will treat it like one and run the antibiotics to err on the side of caution. He wants me to take pictures of it on Friday and email them to Terri to let him look at it and he will for sure see me on Monday. Good news from the visit was I'm down 21 lbs AND he says I can move on to mushy foods! Yay!
  19. I finally got Terri, DR. B had been in surgery but she finally got him and he said he'd see me at 4pm today- so Im about to leave and head that way. Terri thought that it was a reaction to the glue just from the pictures, but Im not having that reaction on the other incisions so I'm not sure. I will let you know what he says when I get back.. Thanks guys for being there for me. I will feel better to just know a dr. has seen it and gives his opinion.
  20. yes, only red on the port side. It does feel almost like a rash feels without bumps, its like irritated skin or something. It is hot, which I guess along with the redness has me jumpy. I sent terri the same pics I sent you and she wasn't alarmed, just told me to get the antibiotics and to see them tomorrow. But hey, this is *ME*, so I am alarmed. I sent by fiance to get the RX since I couldnt leave work just yet- but I'm hoping when Terri gets back from lunch she will tell me to come on in and I will hit the road.
  21. BUT, it is red on some of the areas my bra doesnt even touch- so that is what has me worried still...I guess Terri is at lunch, I can't get her.
  22. Yes! In fact that is when I began to notice the redness, is when I went to wearing my bra again.
  23. Terri says that it may be a reaction to the glue. But i'm thinking not so much because it is not red around my incision- its red around my whole practical boob aside from the incision.
  24. ok, i sent them, see what you think. It looks alot like broken blood vessels, but the more I look at them, the more worried I get. What the heck could this mean? I sent terri an email asking could she move my appt up to this afternoon and I would just go- My health is more important than work.
  25. No, its not swolen, just red and warm to the touch. I can send you pics via email if you want. I am totally freaking out and they insist that I do not need to come in, that it will be fine to wait till tomorrow and to just start on the antibiotics. That if it is indeed infected, he would be Rx'ing me the same antiobiotic he called in. Think I should insist he see me?
