Throwing up (sorry for the topic)

I have the same problem with fajitas and I am 4 months post op. I think it's the peppers and onions.

    Need reassurance

I had the exact same issues! Take Miralax. I didn't and I regretted it. Ended up with a fissure. After I finally went I lost 3 pounds! So don't worry, lol, it's still working.

My insurance told me flat out they would cover when I called. Also, on the website it said they would. Turns out they were wrong. My Dr called and they told him no. I turned them in to the state board. I bought more expensive insurance for this coverage. They said it was a misprint and they were not liable since the surgery had yet to be competed. I ended up paying OOP with student loans. But I met my maximum OOP expenses which is nice. I have no more deductibles or charges for any dr visits. I'm taking full advantage of that.

Throwing up (sorry for the topic)

I wouldn't count it. I have read that must vsg patients that throw up right after eating, throw it up before any is digested.

Shame in sharing WLS with friends/family?

I haven't really told anyone other than my family. Now I'm down 70 pounds and everyone wants advice on how I lost weight. I hate lying but I do feel like there is weight loss surgery shaming.. So instead I tell a version of the truth and speak as little as possible. I've told people I only eat small amounts of Proteins several times a day. I did, however, come across a client who is in the same physical shape I was before and was desperate for help. I told her the truth. I can't hide the best decision of my life from someone else who could benefit from it. I fight with myself just to come out with the truth... But honestly I'm a bit embarrassed that it took surgery for me to get here. There are also some very judgemental people, my brother for instance, that will never know. P.S. The "easy way out" thing angers me. This is anything but easy. In many ways it is the toughest thing I've ever done, especially mentally. But putting on my size 18 skinny jeans today reminded me it was well worth it!

    Eating sucks

It took me awhile to find my "happy" amount of food to eat. I threw up nearly every other meal at first. Listen to your body's fullness cues. At first I would feel a tightness in my chest and food backed up in my esophagus. It seemed line no matter how hard I tried I could never avoid that terrible Thanksgiving dinner fullness feeling. I find that I need to keep myself busy. So I will try to eat while working or during conversations. This way I'm taking more time. I also noticed when I am full I do this worried hiccup/burp combined thing. When that happens if I take one more bite I'll be sick. I try to stop eating before that point though. I'm not ever really hungry anyway it's more head hunger.

What is one thing you use the most post-op

My purse. I'm constantly digging in it to get one of my many vitamin bottles or a protein bar. Also, my husband. Lol. I "use" him a lot more because he is the reason I get my daily protein. He wakes up every morning to make us both protein shakes. I never have time bc I love sleeping in.
