Boy it's amazing how far you come in two weeks! Tomorrow is my two week mark and feeling good. Still feeing tired but I think that will get better once I'm graduated to foods in two days. I cannot wait! This liquid diet had been one of the hardest things to do. Mostly mentally. I'm so tired of sweet Protein and broth! I still can't get all my protein or fluids in but I do pretty good. I no longer have spasms or pain when I drink so I think I'm healing even my gallbladder surgical area is a million times better. I still haven't weighed yet- waiting for my post op Thursday and to be surprised. I sure see the loss though!I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!

No need to be nervous! The fact that you have studied AT ALL for life after surgery probably puts you ahead of 90% of the people who have this procedure done. You will be fine.
As for the pain, I won't lie, it hurt! I was in more pain post-op than I thought I would be. I guess I even had a few choice words for some nurses about how I felt when I woke up, though I don't remember that, (they told me about it later, and fortunately thought it was funny!). However, that all passed quickly. It's all just a distant memory as I come up on one year post-op, and all completely worth it!
As for the kids, they will be fine! Your MIL managed to raise your husband, and I assume he turned out okay. Besides, staying with grandma is all about staying up too late, eating the wrong things at the wrong times and just generally not doing what you are supposed to when you are supposed to do it, otherwise no kids would agree to it! Besides, kids are resilient. They will recover from this ordeal quicker than you. No worries!
Really, just concentrate on following your doctor's advice. Everything else will fall into place. You have got this! Best of luck!

Well guess who stepped on the scale this morning to 198.4 pounds? Me, fellow WLS friends! I am officially in "ONE-DERLAND!" Huzzah!!!!!!!
I started 8 months ago at 259 lbs. One lap-band and whole lotta good exercise and careful eating later, and I am finally below 200 lbs for the first time in 15 years.
I am fighting back tears at this very moment!
Had to share this success. This is a big one for me. I reached a goal of getting in the 100's before students came back to the College. I'm not much of a goal-setter, but I'm here!
    Woo Woo!
If I can do this, (I am the QUEEN of lack of willpower) ANYONE can do this!!!!

Well, my one year surgiversary was yesterday... and it passed with no one saying anything. Granted not a lot of people know, but my partner... daughter... mother etc... not a word. I've lost over 150 lbs in this last year... and nothing. Hurt my feelings... and I can't say it to anyone, so saying it here... *sigh* makes me sad...

Woo Hoo! Way to go! Throw a party for those closest to you. When they ask what the occasion is say "me! I'm celebrating one amazing year and want to Celebrate it with you," Or have a thank you party - it's been one year since my surgery, and I couldn't have done it without you."

Surgery went well, no complications I had the RNY done. I've lost over 150 since the surgery itself and 200 + from my highest. Still losing and hope it continues until I am down to my goal weight. Let's see

I had my surgery in July last year, but to be honest I don't even remember the specific date. I'm sure they are proud and happy about your weightloss, but don't remember the specific date of your surgery.

Congratulations on your incredible weight loss, and happy surgiversary!
Why don't you mention it to your family and close friends? I agree with @@AngelaWilliamsMD that it is probably not on their radar. I would bet they will be very happy for you and will give you accolades for your hard work.

I'm sorry you feel this way. One thing that I'm beginning to realize is that we are all hypersensitive about weight to some degree. Look at all of the effort we have put into the weight loss surgery and the ongoing journey overall. That just simply isn't the norm for other people.
So, I don't think your family is trying to upset you on purpose. Your surgiversary, is special without a doubt. The first is something that I hope to cherish on Apr 30th, 2016...but I don't want or need their validation when the time comes. I guess what I'm saying is that don't be upset because your family isn't jumping up and down about this. It doesn't mean they don't love you...it's just not on their radar.
I do hope that you will Celebrate your special day if you haven't yet. You've achieved an unremarkable goal that provides inspiration to everyone in the BariatricPal community.

Livincrimson reacted to BigGirlPanties in Ladies, what do you consider your ideal dress size ?
My Success Habits Counselor has a saying about her size..."it's Nisa (her name) size"... mainly because she is bottom heavy and has to have a lot tailored...so she buys from Goodwill and has them tailored and is still ahead of the game...she cuts out the size tags, because that doesn't matter to her.
Being big boned and tall, a 12/14 would be more than "skinny" for me...coming from a 30/32 and now at a 18... so things are getting there...but anything smaller would mean I'd look like a skeleton with skin (like those exhibits...LOL) ... as long as I'm healthy, I'm happy... I will NEVER be a single digit wearer...not in the cards for me...this I know!
Just happy with who I am now...and looking forward to the future!
