She called in the physician's assistant and he told me it was nothing to worry about and did not tell me to stop chewing gum, though I plan to anyway.

I don't blame you for laughing. Nothing was ever said to me and I had never read anything saying no gum. I have a follow up today. I guess I'll find out.

My sister and I both used Kaiser. She did not have to do the pre op diet, just the 2 days of liquids. I am doing the pre op diet 3 weeks out! Maybe it depends on the surgeon.
