  1. I drink the Premier shakes... I get them at costco. They are pre-mixed so it takes away from the awful texture that Protein powder often has. That is what I used to get through my two weeks! Day 1 and 2 were the WORST for me. By day 4 I wasn't feel hungry.... I had crazy cravings but the hunger subsided. Hang in there cause its worth it in the end... I dropped 26lbs in 2 weeks!

    Dont know what im feeling

I am just over three weeks out. I don't have any pain but I do still struggle with knowing when I cam full. I don't feel any hunger so I have to remind myself to eat! But I met with my nutritionist last week and I described to her that I stop eating as soon as my stomach does "anything".... not meaning gurgle though as I believe it will be normal for the stomach to do a lot of that from what I am reading from others. At three weeks, I can still eat very little. I ate a little bit of cottage cheese and a few bites of fresh peach the other day and that was the first I could def feel my fullness.
  3. Fantastic news! Congrats!!
  4. I also go from the date I started my pre-op liquid diet which just happens to also be my highest weight. But I think every pound you lost should be celebrated so I'd go from the highest weight... but that's just me!

Eating out - I just need to vent.

How frustrating! I know I am going to be a bit uncomfortable going out to eat and an establishment like just makes thing all the worse. So sorry you had such a terrible experience!

    Cheated already!

Every day is a new day to pick your self up and start again! I'd focus on why you decided to get the surgery and what you want to achieve. I always try to remind myself of that along with reminding myself I has a hugely invasive surgery... and for what? To achieve my goals. Just remember that the sleeve can't do all the work and we still have to exercise some self restraint and follow the doc's instructions to get the best results out of the tool we've been given!

    Not taking care of myself

I would certainly recommend speaking with your surgeon or nutritionist regarding the issues you are having with the bowel movements and difficulty with food. Grief is a difficult thing! It is probably important for you to find someone you can talk to whether professionally or friends and family who can give you support!

    Calorie intake?

Thanks for asking this question! I am four weeks out and feel like I am super low... like I think I am probably lucky to get 500 calories a day. :/
  9. Congrats on your decision to get the sleeve! I totally understand where you are coming from... I too was tired of living life from the sidelines, wanting to be able to fly comfortably, travel, enjoy a theme park, not wonder if am going to fit in a both..and YES, clothes Along with just wanting to be healthier and live longer doing things I enjoy. I am glad the forums have been helpful to you... it is a wonderful resource and support!

    Duration of Recovery time?

I was off 2.5 weeks. I was totally pain free and by then I was just still struggling to figure out the eating and drinking. I was glad to get back to work so I could think about anything other than food and water! If your job requires heavy lifting, you would need to consider more time. My doctor told me I wasn't allowed to list more then 10 lbs for 4 weeks.

liquid diet does suck! But I lost 26lbs at the end of it, so I considered it totally worth it!

    28, mom of 2, scared!

I was terrified. I too worried about something going wrong and dying. I even cried as they wheeled me into the operating room and then they quickly administered the anesthesia! I felt much better after that I came out of surgery just fine and with a super easy recovery and now I am 4 weeks out and totally happy with the decision I made. I think it's normal to be fearful of going into surgery.
  14. I'd recommend some research on the band and sleeve. And maybe read some of the forum topics from those who have had to have their band removed and go with a different surgery. It seems to happen with frequency. Certainly something to look into before committing one way or the other. Best of luck to you!

    Gas

The gad is likely from the surgery and not from what you are eating and drinking. The best advice has already been given... walk, walk, walk! Hope you get some relief soon!
  16. I don't know to much about this process. For those of you mentioning muscle repair... what causes the need for muscle repair? Is that pretty common in excess skin removal? I just got my sleeve so this isn't something I know much about so I was curious! Thanks!

    My one year Surgaversary !

That is awesome! So glad you are feeling great! I also can't wait to see the pics!
  18. My taste hasn't changed but I think I not have aversion to things lol I ate oatmeal during the soft stage and it made me sick as a dog. Now just seeing a box of oatmeal or smelling it makes me cringe lol

  20. I asked my Dietician the other day and she said at least 3 months and even then it would be a minimal amount... and nothing carbonated.
  21. You are doing awesome! So glad things went smoothly and that you have made such wonderful progress. I had mine June 10th! Also feeling great!

    6 month wait...

I also had the six month wait... I was bummed about it. But the time passed quickly. Especially because you are weighing in monthly and it's amazing how quickly that tome passes when you are trying to drop some lbs and being held accountable for it! It will go faster than you think. Good luck on your journey!

Fell HARD off the wagon ????

Don't be ashamed! It's a wonderful thing to be able to spot it and correct it before it spirals out of control! Well done!

    Please Respond!

Hmm... I don't have any experience with that. They did ask me to go off of my birth control 2 weeks prior to surgery to help minimize risk of blood clotting? Did you have to do the same? I'd think going off birth control could mess with regularity.
