    Sleeve limitations

Hi I am six months out and often wondered the same questions. Well here goes... EVERYONE'S body is different, some people tolerate some foods better then others, that said: I can basically eat anything (roast beef a little tough to get down) but I treat myself to an M\M or 1/4 candy bar once in a while, I try not to deprive myself altogether but when I do treat it is AFTER I have eaten my Protein and then veggies. Have I dabbled in potato chips, yes, ate some a lot less then I used to!!! The key is remember why we had the surgery and if you do eat 'something' that we shouldn't have... Forget it and don't beat yourself up, get back on track the very NEXT meal, not tomorrow, next meal. Guilt goes along way if you let it, remember we are all human, your stomach/sleeve is new and we are all on a journey for a healthier hopefully happier life. now, let me get off my soapbox. - m
  2. Hello I am six months out. I have a very strange question/concern Sometimes I eat let's say tuna fish, sometimes I can eat almost the whole can and other times, less than half the can and I am full. (with no other foods, like fillers i.e. celery carrots, etc.) I sometimes feel that way with a piece of chicken too, sometimes four -- five bites and I am full other times, I can eat more without the fullness. Also, who gets mucus at end of throat when they eat, should I be concerned. I had no GI problems, No GERD before surgery. It is not all the time, just the night meal. Is this all in my head??? If so, ok, I can live with it, me a little Cuckoo at times anyway....LOL. But seriously any others having these issues or concerns and is normal or is there a logical explanation? Thank you in advance for your input and insight. - M

    Hair loss

Hi Let me start with, I am not an expert at this, but have done some searching for answers and asked a lot of questions.... hair loss at the 6th month mark is "a norm" for by-pass and sleevers. Biotin is ok for regrowth, but will NOT stop the thinning and hair loss. My cousin is a dermatologist and said "load up on B-Complex," don't know if this is the "answer" but it makes my urine bright yellow....LOL. I already take Biotin, Alive Engery Vitamin, Calcium/Vit D, B-12, so I added B-Complex. Now I read somewhere zinc and niacin are important to hair regrowth, I will have to do some googling on this...LOL... Now from all the searching and questions and answers I got, it seems: a) around six months - Hair Loss It will come back. (approx. one year) c) seems our bodies are adjusting to our weight loss.
  4. Hi I am a newbie to this board, so if this issue/question has been asked and answered before, please excuse my ignorance. I am 6 months out, I have gone from a size XXL to a small. (the small runs big) I still have about 30-35 lbs. to get to goal. But this nagging question is WHY am I losing inches and NOT weight. I went to my PCP 3 months after surgery, and stepped on his scale and weighed the same as two week post opt visit, yet I went down two sizes in clothes. How is this possible????? I went home and cried...thinking my surgery is not working, what am I doing wrong, help, etc. I know I sound like I am complaining but it is nagging me. My surgeon said "don't get hung up on #s from the scale" well this correct and ok. But my curiosity is getting to me, why don't the numbers on the scale show??? At first I was depressed, and the answers I get: "don't get worried about #'s" "just keep doing what your doing and forget the scale" BUT I CAN"T .... call me crazy. Anyone with a logical explanation????
