Long story but i originally lost 140 lbs in about 2 years overall. Sleeve did 100 of it and lots of cardio etc did the rest.
then gradually weight crept back, very slowly at first, grazing, life happened, stopped the extreme exercise, let carbs back in. So 3 months shy of my 5 year surgiversary I had gained 65 back.
I knew I had to fix this or i’d be right back to 315 in no time.
I used the concepts in “Never Binge Again” book (free on kindle) and also Jason Fungs 2016 Obesity Code starting on Jan 1, 2018.
I am now down 22 lbs and know I can get the rest off.
I never “fixed” my insulin problem. I ate too much Protein. and so when the extreme exercise ended the weight crept back, the protein and “healthy carbs” encouraged the insulin and thus the cravings that the normal exercise couldn’t burn off.
I am back on track. My sleeve is bigger now but still gets fuller than a regular stomach so it hurts if I eat too much. Reduced ghrelin only helped me for 3 months after surgery.
I am thankful to the sleeve for the first 100 lbs but now it’s all on me and the right choices i make.
I recommend those books if you need to get back on track or even if you are in the euphoric losing stages because eventually you will need to make the right choices without all the early benefits of the surgery.

Its valuable for people to hear the reality of life years out. It was something I wish I had been more prepared for. Congratulations on all your weight lost and getting things back on track. It's never too late to work on this and turn things around.

My surgery took place on January 6, 2016. I have gone to my 1 month follow up today and have lost a total of 25 lbs. It's great that I can fit clothes that I have not fit before.

Hello everybody, I am still dealing with Hair loss, but have started using lemongrass oil and coconut oil to see if it will strengthen my hair folicles. I had my surgery on 6/24, I am down to 315 lbs, HW 454, surgery weight 419. I am very happy with my results. So many things have changed. I am now working, I was unemployed for a long time due to the weight.I have run into people who I haven't seen in a while...they took a minute to realize who I was...I felt fantastic! I am thanking God everyday for this surgery, my doctors and for giving me the strength to do this.

I was sleeves June 15th and am at 192 from a high weight of 268. I finally got into a size 14 from a size 26 at the start. I have been super pleased with my decision to get the sleeve. I have had no complications and working hard to change my eating habits. I have about 50 or more pounds to go.

I down to 194 and loving it, size 14. Yes Hair loss but no buggy compared to pros like being able to keep up with 2 yr old and roll around with him. Also, I'm able to be in the picture instead of always taking them . Feel so much more confident and sexy again.

I have been doing good, but I go a week where I lose a lot of weight, then go a week of two without losing. Then I change things up and start losing again. Currently I have been in a stall for two weeks going on three this week. So I joined the gym on Friday instead of going as hubbies guest. Worked out almost everyday so I can get the scales moving again!! I am excited with losing 75 pounds and knowing it will never come back on. I am pretty comfortable with the measuring and weighting out food. I have a favorite bowl that I use and that is it. I love my small bowl because I don't have any problems with over eating even a bite, I believe the bowl must be a little smaller than my pouch as I eat and am full and satisfied. Hair loss, more than half my hair is gone, but I feel better and look better so it does not really bother me. I would do this journey all over again:)

Hey all you June sleevers...we are at or close to the six month milestone. Where is everyone? What is different for you? Are you happy? Would love to hear from everyone.
I, myself am so glad I had the surgery. I feel so good. Have had some rough obstacles like Hair loss, some depression, and I so miss my Diet Pepsi but I have lost 100 pounds. My life improves daily. I wonder what the next six months will bring?

I had surgery 06/24 and have lost slowly. I lost 40lbs before surgery and 43lbs since surgery.
I have lost about 40% of my hair judging the size of my ponytail and its really scary!!
I have been losing it for about 3 months now and I keep praying every day its going to end soon and I will start seeing regrowth!!

I was sleeved on 6/25. I'm down to 177lbs. SW 235 it feels great.. I too am having major Hair loss. It is really hard for me to wash and brush my hair. It's a little scary. I had a lot of hair. I also cut a lot of length off of my hair to give it a fighting chance. I also noticed the other day that my legs are getting all wiggly. Like loose leg skin. I've picked up the Protein and the workouts. But that is somewhat disturbing. I guess wiggly skin is better than fat legs and bad health.

OK, I finally uploaded a couple pictures at the request of a friend. I still don't think I am to the "After" stage, but I am pretty damn close. Here is a picture from me that has to be at my highest weight. I didn't weigh myself back then so I am guessing that I was over 330 lbs:
It's funny, sometimes when I look in the mirror I don't recognize myself. But when I saw this picture, I literally asked who it was! I guess I am getting used to being this guy:
