    Tummy sleeper and surgery

I was a dedicated stomach sleeper my whole life and so after surgery it was about six weeks for me before I could sleep on my stomach again but now I am actually more comfortable on my back or side.
  6. Ha! I think my posture is better without all the weight pulling me down!
  7. Thank you everyone! [emoji4]
  8. It can be easy to stress eat after a devastating thing happens, even if you haven't been a stress eater in the past. I have been having a bit of a struggle with that myself lately. However let me ask, did your grandmother know about your efforts to get health and improve your life with the weight loss? Perhaps you could focus on doing your best as a way to honor her because most grandmothers I'm sure would want you to do your best and focus on your health goals.

Question for sleevers with a start of 350 +

My highest weight was a few years ago in 2011, I was 376. I lost a bit before starting surgery process and was 319 when I was sleeved. I had no pre-op diet. I am almost a year out from surgery and I am 5'5" and will be 38 next month. I have lost almost 157 lbs so far and weigh 162.2 as of this morning. My Dr had a goal of 170 for me. My personal goal is to reach 140 so that I can have a small bounce range and still be in a normal BMI. I have had decent support from my family but don't have a partner in weight loss.

    100 lbs gone

My brain still wants to think of a 2 or 3 to start my weight and I've been in the ones for a little while now.

    IBS OR IBD

I had pretty bad IBSD prior to surgery. I had normally 5-6 bad stomach days a week. Now I had sleeve not bypass but I was sleeved almost a year ago and have literally only had maybe 4 bad stomach days in the last year. Even if I hadn't lost weight (which I have) the relief I have found from the IBS issues was worth it.

    Bad days?

I am almost a year out and have some days where food has just no appeal to me and kinda nauseates me. I have seen posts from many others that have occasional days like that too. With you still being pretty early out your hormones are probably going a bit crazy too and can contribute to how your feeling.

    Are they any Tennessee Sleevers?

I had to see Dr English once for a pain issue when Dr Spann wasn't available. He was very nice too.
  16. Almost a year out and I have just started hitting between 8-900 calories a day.

    Are they any Tennessee Sleevers?

I'm in the Nashville area and went though Vanderbilt when I had my sleeve almost a year ago. Love Dr Spann and the Nurse Practitioner there. I am very VERY happy with how things have gone so far.

  19. ^^This exactly is how I feel.
  20. Everyone has those fears. I was still nervous as I was being wheeled into the operating room. I feared that I was going to be the one it didn't work for. However here I am almost a year out from surgery and 155 pounds lighter and only 25 from goal. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself in my life.
  21. My hospital gave me one right after surgery. It was a huge help for me and I lived in the thing for the first week or so. It helped so much when getting up and down to have something hold my incisions so they didn't feel like they were pulling.
