    Gastric Sleeve 9/28/15

Thought I'd join in if that's ok. I was sleeved on 9/28 as well. I had my first follow up on Tuesday of this week and they said all was well and I am on track with everything. My question to you all is how much are you eating a day at this point? I'm kinda concerned because I'm averaging about 300 or less calories a day and about 30-40 grams of protein if I'm lucky. With me it's not that food is making me feel sick but if I eat more then a couple bites or half a protein shake it feels like the food is backing up my esophagus. I guess I'm just wondering how everyone else is doing calorie/protein wise.

    I wore a dress!

    You looked beautiful. ????
  3. Well that's just weird then.
  4. Did the one that wouldn't ship come from a different amazon supplier then the one that did ship?

    Things I'll Need?

The only things I used at the hospital were my phone and toothbrush/paste. They made me wear the slipper socks to go walking and the gown was so big it wrapped around me twice so I didn't even use my robe that I brought. Besides I was hooked to the IV and you can't get the robe on around it unless they will unhook it for you. Many people have said that they needed Chapstick too cause their lips dry out.

6 Days Post Op - Calories

I was sleeved on the 28th and I've been having the same issues I have been getting under 200 calories each day on average and about 32 ounces of water. Overall I'm feeling pretty good physically with the exception of the one incision toward the right side, that ones been very painful.

    Protein help!

I was having a hard time a few days ago and found that putting it over ice helped cause it thinned it out. Hope you find something that works for you.

    Post surgical pain/swelling

I was sleeved 9/28 and I didn't have the swelling but have the right side pain. My dr office said that there was retraction there of the liver and muscle to get to my stomach and so it will be sore for a while.

    Does it ever get better?

Just was wondering, I am day 4 post op and I've been really good all except for pain in the right side of my abdomen and under the edge of the right side of my rib cage, did anyone else experience this?

    Freaking Out

Call your surgeon right away. It can get stuck and cause big problems from what I've been told.
  12. I would just say thank you then either change the subject or walk away. ????
  13. I was sleeved on the 28th as well. Thankfully not having any problems with drinking water or protein shake other then I can only sip small amounts at a time. The worst part about it is the pain when getting up or sitting down but each day it is lessening.

    Any Middle TN Sleevers?

Ah that makes sense to go there then.

    Any Middle TN Sleevers?

Thanks for the well wishes. I had to stay one night here at Vandy and am currently waiting on my discharge paperwork to be done so I can head home. Over all things haven't been bad, the worst of the pain hits when I'm getting in or out of the bed. If you don't mind my asking what made you decide to do surgery so far away from Nashville?

    Any Middle TN Sleevers?

I'm in the Nashville area and was sleeved yesterday at Vanderbilt. What area are you in?
  17. By this time tomorrow, 9/28/15, I will be out of surgery and sleeved. I'm trying really hard to not be nervous. The surgery itself does not concern me too much but the recovery is the part I'm not a fan of. My family is very supportive and my cabinet is stocked with what I'll need so I'm sure all will be fine. I'm just ready to be on the other side and be on the losers bench!

    Tomorrows the day!

Well I am officially one day post op now. I was pretty much a wreck yesterday morning on the way to check in at the hospital but I just pushed through and it hasn't been bad at all. I've been a bit sick at my stomach but not bad. The worst pain is getting in and out of the bed. So I am hopeful for the future now. I'd love to hear from any of you that just got sleeved as well to see how your doing as well.

    IBS pre and post op

I have been wondering the same thing, tomorrow is my surgery day so I guess I'll be finding out soon enough! But would still love to hear from others about their experiences as well. ????

    Random thoughts

Lol that's funny, I like the hand puppet statement. That part I don't know but for the other part I think as the fat dissipates it is excreted along with our waste.

    Advice please!

Some people have a smaller frame so can wear smaller clothes. Despite my weight I have always been able to wear clothes about 3 sizes smaller then someone else of the same weight and I am not someone who will just squeeze into something too tight ????

    Pre-surgery - Emotionally STUCK!

I am right there too, your post is exactly how I feel. My date is soon, on the 28th of this month but ever since I got my date a few weeks ago it's like no matter what I am doing, or trying to do, all I can think about is the surgery and reading posts from others who are post-op.
