    ANY QUICK MEAL SUGGESTIONS

You can google a recipe for the cloud bread, there are different variances out there. It's not really bread but a somewhat close replacement for bread made out of an egg/cream cheese base.

    FOUND A NEW SNACK

I have looked at those before but the sugars seemed too high to me as well. It's the bbq sauce. I loved sweet baby rays but just can't do it anymore.
  3. Your surgeons team or NUT should have given you volume limits for now. That early out you should only probably have a quarter cup and stop there because your still swelled and healing inside and the nerves have not had time to heal to tell you that you are full in time.

    Regrets?

Not a single regret. The first few weeks were hard but doable. It is so worth it.

    Jeans that fit

I feel your pain but in a different way. I can wear like a 14 in the waist but my legs-calves mostly are still bigger and the legs of the jeans don't fit so I have to get bigger ones to accommodate my legs. I have the perpetual baggy butt when wearing jeans right now.
  6. Just wondering why I would be locked out of a thread? The thread Before and After Gastric Sleeve Photos is one I believe I have posted in previously (it shows on my participated list) and I went to open it and it says I don't have permission to view that topic. It also now shows a little grey padlock in the bottom corner under the thread title.

    Locked out of a thread?

It wouldn't let me add the screen shot in the original post.

    Vitamins

I take two flintstones complete in the morning by 8, I take a b-complex that dissolves by 8:30, then I take a 500 mg bariatric advantage calcium at ten and another at 12. I also take a biotin for hair and nail growth during the day but it's not required. I got these little tiny Tupperware bowls at the dollar store and I fill them up for each day of the week then just grab one on my way out the door each morning. This way I know what I've taken every day.

    Visit a doctor first time

No, your not crazy just sound nervous like most everyone else is when pursuing this. Just a small word of advice, get all the requirements from your insurance for approval now so you don't have any surprises. If they require a six month doctor monitored weight loss attempt you could get set with a primary doctor and get that started now so you will be ready when time comes to start working with the surgeon.

Wow! Awesome job! Keep up the good work!

    Funny NSV

I kinda freaked out till I realized what that was on me. I love being able to see me come out from all the fat now. Having hip bones is a foreign concept to me and now they are there too. The only part I am not likeing is the tailbone pain.
  12. What an amazing and encouraging story. It never ceases to amaze me that those of us who always take care of everyone around us never take the time to take care of ourselves. I am guilty of this as well until I made the choice last year to get sleeved as well (I am 6&1/2 months out). Great job on not only the weight loss but on learning to take time to care for yourself as well! [emoji4]
  13. I think that for some of them from the show its not as much of a vanity issue of removing the skin but a health issue. When the folks start at 600+ pounds by the time they reach 250 pounds they may have 30-40 pounds of extra skin weighing them down still causing back and joint issues. Also the skin tends to pull and break down causing open sores and rashes which inhibits mobility.

    Food related regrets...

A leftover turkey burger patty apparently it was too dry and got stuck....I have not ate turkey burger since.
  15. If you are not tracking what you eat you may want to do that at least for a while to regain a clear idea of what you are really consuming each day. I use my fitness pal and I have gotten in the habit of logging what I am going to eat for the day every morning. If I change from what I've planned then I go in and make sure that I am still on track so that I meet my daily goals.
  16. I too am from Michigan (Wyandotte - southeast of Detroit) and now live in Tennessee (Nashville). I was sleeved six months ago and am happy to help out with any questions.
  17. My nut said for women optimal amount of protein is 50-60 grams a day. I normally shoot for 70 a day and she was ok with that. Just be careful to not over do the protein because too much can overwork your kidneys and cause strain there. You will find every dr or NUT will have varying views and recommendations.

    Oh, the lying!

There are some people I have told but there are others who I am not comfortable telling so when asked I just say I am eating a whole lot less and moving a whole lot more because that is truthful without going into my medical info.

    Need advice

It's all in what you make of it with either surgery. I had the sleeve done and I'm just over six months out and down 101lbs. I am on par with by pass patients losses at six months out according to my dr. I will say I was never a huge sweets person my problem was portions and breads, so that is why sleeve was so appealing to me. I have now gone the low carb route and find that I don't really crave much of anything anymore except on occasion a good steak but then I'll eat maybe two ounces of it and I'm stuffed.

    Stomach retainer/divider

I was told to wear it as long as I felt I needed it. I found that it helped give the support needed to be able to get up and down and walk around easier so I used it the first week or so when I was up walking around. B12

I do a sublingual b complex daily and I'm six months out and my labs are perfect. The b12 was on the high end of normal range.

    Vitamin Dilemma?

As the poster above said you will want to do what your dr says but for me I take two chewable flintstones complete vitamins, two 500 mg chewable bariatric advantage calciums, a b complex that dissolves in my mouth, and a biotine every day. I space them out because you need two hours between the multi vit with iron and the calcium. I also space out the calciums by two hours because only up to 500 mg can be absorbed at a time.

new member no surgery date yet.

Hi Karla, welcome to the forum. As was said above you will find many opinions here on every topic under the sun. As for me personally I am so grateful that I was able to be sleeved just over six months ago. I feel like it has given me back my life. Best of luck to you!

    Calcium citrate

I do the bariatric advantage 500 mg chewable ones. I order them from Amazon and get a better price there. I have tried the orange, chocolate and Carmel. Not a fan of the Carmel ones but the other two are good and when you get the 500 mg ones you don't have to eat as many per day to meet goals for calcium.
