  1. I don't know how it works for Medicaid but my insurance through Premera says the physician supervised diet has to be six consecutive months meaning I have to go in to my doctor once a month, get weighed, discuss diet and exercise, and talk about goals for the next month.
  2. Oh and all my policy says is 6 month physician supervised diet, it doesn't list anything specifically. I've tried calling and emailing the insurance company which is like pulling teeth cause you talk to 3 different people and get 3 different answers. One lady even told me the 6 month diet wasn't insurance requirement but she thought the surgeons requirement, I had to read the policy to her. This is why I fear there's something I don't know about that's gonna get me denied.
  3. Hi all, I've just started this process. Premera requires i do a 6 month physician supervised diet, I go in for month 3 next week. I have a BMI of 51 so I know I meet that requirement. I'm just really worried about the 6 month diet, that I'm gonna do all this work then have them say denied cause I didn't go in on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 9:26am. I was just wondering if they're really strict on this or if they're ok she went in once a month for 6 months, check. I just keep fearing insurance is going to be a nightmare.
